User :   I am told this ailment is common with men of my age group
Doctor :   and this course of medicines that you started 4 days ago is the first time you are under treatment?
User :   nope, I was being treated for urinary infection by other doctors

User :   after consulting a specialist I got to know it is prostitits
User :   I want to be free fm this problem as soon as possible

User :   frankly the symtoms were enhanced the first 2 days and now it is subsided
User :   but there is uneasiness in urination and some kind of itiching pain in the anus as well

User :   Urologist has asked to take medication for atleast a month
User :   first 10 days on some dosage and the rest of the days with reduced dosage

User :   why is prostatitis difficult to treat doctor ?
User :   Urologist informed me that it will be ok by weeks' time
Doctor :   prostatitis generally takes longer than other infections -
User :   is prostatitis a sort of infection ?
Doctor :   yes- it is usually a bacterial infection
User :   am informed it is kind of prostrate inflamation
Doctor :   there are different categories - that are determined by the examining doctor
User :   there is no urine of blood test to be done I was informed
User :   he has written on the prescription that it is mildly tender prostrate

User :   after examination of the prostrate

User :   I was unable to ask him lest he gets annoyed
Doctor :   it means the pain was not severe when he examined your prostate
User :   no, it was not severe, he just examined with his figure
Doctor :   the commonest cause of prostatitis is bacterial - but it will have severe pain
User :   is there no severe pain
User :   Now I understand prostatitis is bacterial infection
Doctor :   there is another form called chronic non bacterial prostatitis that causes swelling but not much pain
User :   chronic in the sense ?
Doctor :   chronic- means something that has been there for more time
Doctor :   the exact cause for this is not known
Doctor :   but antibiotics help in this case as well
User :   I had the same problem 20 years ago

User :   seldom was it diagonised as prostitits

User :   but I remember I used to take antibiotics on n off

User :   yes, I had been taking antibiotics for urinary infection before prostatitis was diagonised
User :   a single course fo norflox 400 mg for 10 days
Doctor :   Ok- essentially antibiotics can help in prostatitis as well
User :   and after that a prolonged course of UTI stat for urinary infection
Doctor :   what medicines are you on now?
User :   I used to feel relief during medication but the problem will soon reoccur
User :   I am on pain killer,antibiotic, urimaxx and some tabs for gas
Doctor :   are you taking any supportive measure likes Sitz bath or pelvic exercises?
User :   I was asked to sit in a plastic tub of warm water for 10 - 15 mins
Doctor :   thats the sitz bath- ok
User :   but I am unable to do it to to space constraint at home
User :   pelvic exercises - no, pls tell me
Doctor :   ok- that can give you good relief as it will relax your lower abdominal muscles
User :   there seems to be some pain in the back as well
User :   infact it became severe the 2nd day when I stated medication for prost
User :   tho now it much relieved
Doctor :   the exercises are difficult to explain over the chat- if you have a physiotherapist close to you - he will be the ideal person to show you how to do these exercises
User :   nevermind, I shall ask the urologist when I meet him next week
Doctor :   this relaxes your pelvic muscles( around the prostate)

User :   tell me where exactly the prostrate glands are located ? as I feel pain in the side abdominal region and back as well
User :   there is a bloated feeling in the side abdomen
Doctor :   the prostate is located in the lower abdominal area- just in front of rectum- which is why it can be felt by a rectal examination
User :   but why is the pain in the sides and the bloated feeling
Doctor :   are you able to pass motion/ urine normally?
User :   motion normal, urine was not normal in the sense I had some pain when the urine entered the penile urethrea and afterwards the flow / stream was normal.

Doctor :   the pain in your sides/ bloating could be because of gas and as you are on many medicines at the moment
User :   I never had so many medicines before for any ailment
