User :   Left Forearm, just below elbow, has random muscle twitches every few minutes. Left upper eyelid has also begun to do the same, but less frequently. Why?

Doctor :   did you take any medications in the last 3 days or previously
User :   No, but I do smoke and have consumed more alcohol than usual for the last few weeks. (Hockey Playoffs :)

User :   No
Doctor :   most of the time it is benign fasciculation syndrome
Doctor :   for which there is no specific cause and it goes off by itself in time
Doctor :   and the other causes is the fatigue which is followed by an exertion
User :   WOuld lack of sleep be a possiblw cause as well?
Doctor :   yes it can also be a cause
User :   Is there a specific duration of symptoms that should cause concern?
Doctor :   it is not the duration but the progression of the symptom along with appearance of the other symptom

Doctor :   if the twitching which is harmless now if progress to weakness of the limb, if it becomes a generalized

Doctor :   along with the appearance of skin sensation loss or numbness and tingling sensation which is progressively increasing
User :   CUrrently twitching is visible, but painless
Doctor :   twitching means visible muscle contractions under the skin
Doctor :   it is also called fasciculations

Doctor :   ans also vitamin b complex pills
Doctor :   and mineral supplements which contain potassium and magnesium in the form of fruits like banana, tender coconut
