Doctor : Hi
User : hello
Doctor : How can I help you ?
User : For about a week I have had a burning in my chest when I exhale. Additionally I get a sharp stabbing pain on the left side of my chest, kinda behind and to the side of my left breast on the beginning of a breath. The sharp pain comes and goes, but it almost always brings me to tears, and I can only take short and shallow breaths while it's happening. It is worse at night, or when I lay down, or move a certain way. What's going on? And should I schedule a dr appt or hit up the er?
Doctor : Hi , I have gone through your query.
Doctor : To answer your question straight first, I feel that you should immediately go to the Emergency Room as I see your symptoms.
Doctor : May I ask you a few more questions to answer your query better ?
User : yes
Doctor : Do you have cough ?
User : kinda. I had a pretty bad head and chest/congestion type cold about a month ago. Cough is pretty much gone at this point. but I'm still coughing a little. It's not really productive like it was though
Doctor : Ok
Doctor : Do you have any other associated symptoms like Fever, Tenderness in the chest wall or pain in the breast tissue?
User : maybe a little tenderness on the rib/breastbone area of the rib under my left breast.
User : but no fever
Doctor : Ok
User : I've also noticed that any cardio I ve done this week caused pain in the same areas.
Doctor : I feel this might be a case of either 1. Pneumonitis 2. LRTI - lower respiratory tract infection
User : Should I shcedule a dr. appt and wait to get in there, or should I hit up the er? I would hate to go to the er and it not be worth the dr/nurses time
Doctor : If you can get an appointment in a day or two, it would be fine or you have to land up in the emergency room.
User : ok. Thanks a bunch. I was really starting to worry, as I have never had issues like this before!
Doctor : Dont worry
Doctor : I feel if you get a chest X-ray done sooner and get a PFT TEST doen by the primary or a chest physician, you will surely get better in aweek
Doctor : Hope you have followed , till than take 1.ADVIL tab. thrice daily
Doctor : 2. Take steam inhalation.
Doctor : Please avoid cool foods 7 cold climate
Doctor : Thank you for consulting me.
User : Thank you,
Doctor : Take care, Bye for now.
