User:Hi Doctor
User:From one week, I have pain on the left side of my lower jaw
User:The pain comes when I try to chew on left side or wide open my mouth
User:Ten days back, I heard cracking sound on the left side of my ear when Im angrily biting my teeth
User:Is this something to do with the pain. I tried taking pain killer Dolo but didnt help
Doctor:It is possible that this pain is related to the crackling sound you heard
Doctor:Also Dolo does not provide adequate pain-relief.
User:Is this serious
Doctor:Actually I need to know more about your symptoms.
User:I couldnt understand whether I need to go to a doctor. If so, which specialist. From one week, Im eating only on the right side
User:yes doctor. please proceed
Doctor:Where exactly is the pain on the jaw?
User:I feel it is at the joint of the jaw to the skull
User:I get this pain if I grind my teeth now
Doctor:It seems to be coming from temporomandibular joint
Doctor:Are you able to open your mouth wide?
User:It pains when I open
Doctor:Do you experience any discomfort during clenching the teeth?
User:Yes, it pains on the left side
Doctor:It usually gets better on its own. It can be managed with pain-killers, restriction of jaw movement.
Doctor:Soft diet is advised to avoid vigorous mastication.
Doctor:It is also worthwhile to visit an orthopedician or a surgeon to get evaluated.
Doctor:He will be able to examine you and recommend some tests to rule out other conditions.
Doctor:Do you have any question?
User:So this is orthopedic and not a dental problem>
Doctor:I do not think so
Doctor:But again examination is required to come to a single diagnosis.
User:ok thanks
Doctor:Do you have other question?
User:Nope thank u
Doctor:Thanks for coming on chat.
