User : Hi, I have battled cancer the last 14 years. I now have metastatic breast cancer with cutaneous metastasis to the neck and chest wall. According to a CT scan I show no metastasis to vital organs. However, I have sever pain 9 or 10 on charts in my left flank area under my ribs...it is non stop now for 3 days. The pain shoots through to the front. It is painful to sit or lie down. What could be the cause of this pain? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
Doctor : Hi

Doctor : The pain due to the cancer growth can be caused by the size of the tumour, nerve compression by the tumour cells or involvement of the nerves by the growth of the tumour itself.
Doctor : Any of there can be causing the pain.

Doctor : If there is no sign of the metastasis to the organs,
Doctor : the cause for the pain may not be due to metastatis.
