User :   ok
Doctor :   Let me explain to you.
User :   ok
Doctor :   PCOD is a condition in which there is problem with ovulation.
Doctor :   Ovulation refers to release of ovum. A presence of quality ovum is necessary for successful conception.
Doctor :   The medications given to your wife are drugs that help in nourishing the follicles of the ovary,
Doctor :   so that there are better chances of ovulation.
Doctor :   A sequence of scans will be done around the mid cycle to assess the follicles.
Doctor :   If the size of the follicles are good, there are better chances of ovulation and thus better chances of conceptions.
Doctor :   Hence the medications and the procedures planned are right.
Doctor :   The scans which is planned will be the test that will decide the future plan of treatment.
Doctor :   So continue with the measures suggested by the gynecologist.
Doctor :   Hope it is clear to you.
User :   yes,,,thanks a lot
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   its been two years since we are married, and for the first year she took the contraceptive pills femilon - 21 days for the whole first year,,,,is this the effect for PCOD ?
User :   earlier she had regular periods
Doctor :   Medically, a definitive cause for PCOD is not known.
Doctor :   It is generally attributed to genetic factors, some environmental factors such as nutrition, stress and internal hormone fluctuations.
Doctor :   Long term femilon use can cause transient fluctuation in the internal hormone level fluctuations, but are not directly associated as the cause of PCOD.
Doctor :   So I do not think femilon usage for a year may have been the cause of PCOD in your wife's case.
Doctor :   Have you followed?
User :   yes , thanks
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   any strict diet she has to follow from now on, i mean any specific thing she has to have compulsary ?
User :   i mean if the nutrition is the problem
Doctor :   Weight and nutrition play a major role on PCOD.
Doctor :   A balanced diet containing good proteins, vitamins and minerals is a must.
Doctor :   I also suggest that she keeps her body weight in limits.
Doctor :   Good destressing measures are also needed to keep the effects of PCOD at the minimal.
Doctor :   As far as dietary tips are concerned,
