User :   Hi! I have PCOS and I chart my BBT's and CM to watch for ovulation. On 08/15 I had a temp spike from 97.1 to 98.0. I figured it was ovulation. My husband and I had been DTD since the day after my period till the spike. Anyway, the next morning I woke up with a major sinus headache and now 16 days later I have tonsillitis and a sinus infection. I went to urgent care to get on amoxicillin. I am 16 DPO and still getting negative on my pregnancy tests. I am wondering if the temp spikes were caused by the sinus issues, and now by my infection...and should I have a positive preg. test by now?? I just want this waiting to be over!
Doctor :   HI
User :   hi
Doctor :   Let me read the query.
Doctor :   Let me brief you.
Doctor :   The temperature spike is probably due to the ovulation and not the infection.
Doctor :   You would have noticed feverishness, body tiredness, feeling of weakness if it were to be due to the infection.
User :   Well I didnt have any of that until yesterday when I felt very tired and weak..
Doctor :   Then the spike is probable due to the ovulation and not the infection.
User : now I am 16 days past..and my temp dipped below the coverline at 6DPO and then again at 11DPO ( then it was down for two days) I am at 16DPO and this morning it was up again...but I had a very bad night of geting up...
Doctor :   Ok
User :   So is 16DPO unsusual to have no period and a negative preg. test?
Doctor :   Since you have had an source of infection, apart from pregnancy, infection itself may have caused the delayed in the periods.
Doctor :   I would suggest you to get the pregnancy test to confirm the pregnancy
User :   You mean a blood test?
Doctor :   Urine pregnancy test.
User :   I did...its negative
Doctor :   You can try this first than the blood test.
Doctor :   May I know when was this test done.
User :   this morning
User :   and yesterday morning
User :   both urine tests were negative
Doctor :   The basal body temperature recordings are not effective in diagnosing the cause for delayed periods.
User :   okay..i figured as much..esp since my cycles are irregular and I have PCOS
