User :   I feel like there is a lump in my throat for the last 10 days. Today I started to feel a numb feeling in my throat as well. This is also accompanied by heartburn. Abdominal pains started yesterday and continued today. What should I do? Should I get an endoscopy? Should I see an ENT or Gastro?
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   hi
Doctor :   does it pin while swallowing ?
Doctor :   Pain*
User :   no pain
User :   just feels like a lump and numb
Doctor :   ok, do you have cough ?
User :   no cough
Doctor :   ok , i advice you to get examined by a ENT specialist
User :   so ENT, not a Gastroenterologist?
Doctor :   meantime you cab gargle with CHLORHEXIDINE antiseptic solution , it will help if it is due to infection
Doctor :   Heart burns could be due to stress
Doctor :   a ENT is a first go
User :   can the lump and numbness in throat also be due to stress
Doctor :   no, not likely
User :   i am on zoloft and xanax for anxiety. i have decreased my dose of xanax the last 2 weeks.
Doctor :   ok,
Doctor :   but i may not relate it to the throat discomfort
User :   i also feel as though my adams apple is bigger than usual... I'm not sure if I am just noticing because i feel lump in my throat. Does this indicate infection?
Doctor :   yes, it could be swelling due to infection ,
Doctor :   and it could be laryngitis
User :   the lump in throat for last week hasnt bothered me very much. The fact that it is numb worries me. Do you think I should go to hospital, or it would be okay for me to wait for ENT apppointment
Doctor :   How long it take to meet a ENT specialist ?
User :   I am not sure but if I call around tomorrow I can probably get an appointment for Wednesday
Doctor :   its ok then , go for an appointment only
User :   ok so the numbness doesn't overly concern you?
Doctor :   no, it may be because of the inflammation not anything serious can cause this
User :   ok that is what I wanted to hear.
User :   Thank you. You have answered all of my questions to my liking
Doctor :   you are welcome
