User :   I have a nose issue. For a few weeks, the inner left side of nose has felt very raw. To the point facial movements cause pain. I have not cut the inside of my nose, nor do I have a pimple but it is very painful. Is this a dryness issue ( even though I am sniffing alot more than normal) or is it something else?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello
Doctor :
let me read
User :   Ok...
Doctor :
where is the pimple located?
User :   There is no pimple
User :   There is simply a very raw area in my nose,to the point you can't touch it.
Doctor :
Doctor :
it is only on the left side
User :   yes
Doctor :
do you have fever
User :   No fever, but I am 39 and have hot flashes due to a hysterectomy several years ago
User :   I thought it may have been a sinus infection as sometimes there is a green discharge but not always and no facial pain like you get with a sinus infection. It feels like my inner nose rips if I make facial expressions or touch it at all

Doctor :
did you check this with an ENT doctor?
User :   No, I am new to the area and do not have a doctor here
Doctor :   did you try with otc medications like advil cold like that
User :   Yes, did not change anything
Doctor :
what you are suffering is a congestion of the nasal mucosa
Doctor :   do you have sneezing problem?
User :   No don't think so
Doctor :
congestion of the nasal mucosa for long time is usually due to allergic in nature
User :   What is the remedy? I have not changed anything in my life style, how do I determine what I am allergic to?
Doctor :   it may be because of the change in the environment also
User :   I see.... Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain?
Doctor :   you can try with the otc medications naproxen twice a day after food
Doctor :
also steam inhalation do help in relieving the congestion
Doctor :
it is better you get it physically examined with a ENT doctor
User :   Ok, I will try those things and see if I can find a local dr as well,,,
User :   oh, wait, I am allergic to Naproxen
Doctor :   so you have an history of allergy to medications
User :   yes, motrin or anything in that family
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   is vicodin an otc there
Doctor :
it contains codeine and paracetamol
User :   no it is not otc here
Doctor :
because all the other pain relieving medications apart from mortin and naproxen is prescription only
User :   I see
Doctor :
paracetamol is not sufficient
Doctor :
do steam inhalation,
Doctor :
tab allerest it is otc an anti allergic drug
