User :   I have a lower back problem from being kicked in the back

User :   I went to the doctors to get it checked.. he checked my urine for kidney damage and it was ok

User :   but i'm wondering if i've damaged a nerve?
User :   i'm in alot of pain
User :   and find it hard to sit up and lie down

User :   If i don't move i'm ok
Doctor :   Can I ask you a few questions pertaing to your problem ?
User :   sure
Doctor :   Since when are you having this pain in the back ?
User :   yesterday
User :   so.. about a day
Doctor :   So it is a very acute pain , sudden in origin ?
User :   yes
User :   it's muscular on the right side
User :   i can walk
Doctor :   Do you see any injury or sudden jerky movement or an accident or fall behind this pain ?
User :   but when i press on that muscel it hurts further down
User :   it was an accidental kick :(

User :   i'm planning to see the doctor again tomorrow for an xray
User :   but just wanted to see if i have alot of damage

Doctor :   Let me give you a few suggestions on this.
User :   ok
Doctor :   1. Sleep on a flat bed without lot of cushioning or springs which might aggravate the pain.
User :   yep
Doctor :   Please do not sit for too long as it can cause lot of strain on your back
User :   slept on the floor earlier today
Doctor :   No, please do not do so.
User :   ok won't do that again
Doctor :   It might cause more pain when you get up from the floor.
User :   i'm taking ibuprofen as well
Doctor :   Ask someone to help you out in removing the mattress from your bed and sleep on that.
User :   ok
Doctor :   3. Take Advil 6oomg thrice a day.
User :   i'm in .. what is advil?
Doctor :   4. Do not lift anything heavy or anything from the ground or do not bend down.
User :   ok will avoid bending
Doctor :   Ok.It is ibuprofen, you mentioned the same.
Doctor :   Keep taking it.
User :   oh good :)
User :   does it sound like nerve damage to you?
Doctor :   5. Give an icepack or ask someone to help you on this.
User :   yep have iced it... but for how long?
Doctor :   It doesnt seem to be a nerve damage , can be a simple muscle spasm or catch.
Doctor :   Daily thrice to four times for 10 minutes everytime.
User :   ok will do that
Doctor :   6. Use Diclofenac gel / ointment on the affected place , But do not overdo or rub hard, just apply it superficially.
User :   it hurts to touch the spot on my back every now and then
User :   but i'll get some gel
Doctor :   And finally see an Orthopedician , who can help you after physical examination.
Doctor :   Dont worry, I feel it will subside in a day or two.
