User:hello dr,
Doctor:How can I help you?
User:i have a query i had my last periods on 21st feb , i have checked with the urine strip on 55th day but it shows negative only now it is more than 60days now i feel like getting pregant but we are planning for goa trip by air by this saturday kinldly guide me is it advisble to travel in air by this time or not
Doctor:May I know your age?
User:i am 29 i had a boy alreay of 5yrs old
Doctor:Since your period is late by more than 60 days, have you seen a doctor to know the cause?
User:know i thought of meeting the dr after the trip only
Doctor:Have your periods been regular in the past?
User:no ,i had irregular periods only
Doctor:Let me brief you.
Doctor:Irregular period is due to hormonal changes.
Doctor:Those changes causes symptoms similar to pregnancy.
Doctor:Now, when your urine pregnancy test is negative after 50 days, then pregnancy is very, very unlikely.
Doctor:However it is worthwhile to consult a doctor and exclude the causes of irregular period - polycystic ovarian disease; uterine problems, thyroid illness, etc.
Doctor:If you do not have any serious symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, etc.; you can consider visiting the doctor after your visit.
Doctor:In the presence of such symptoms, I would recommend seeing your doctor now and plan your trip accordingly.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:ya ya
Doctor:Do you have any questions?
User:ya if i again go for a urine pregancy test and if it shows posstive result means can i go by air or not
Doctor:Two things now.
Doctor:1. I do not think you will get a positive pregnancy test now.
Doctor:urine pregnancy test is very accurate after 6 weeks of last menstrual period.
Doctor:2. If I am proved wrong; then the risks of travel need to be assessed by your gynecologist/ultrasound scan before you take up this trip.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:yes dr
Doctor:Do you have any questions?
User:one of my friend had a similar probelm she didn't get periods and she consult with a dr she suggest some medicines after taking that medicine also she didn't attend the periods after 65 days while she checks with the urine strips she came to know that she is pregant on hearing this only i got confused
Doctor:I understand your concern; but did your friend get the pregnancy test done before trying the medications?
User:ya at that time it shows negative only
Doctor:Incidence of false negative reports on urine pregnancy test is less than 1% after 6 weeks of pregnancy.
Doctor:If your friend, had performed the tests after 6 weeks and had a negative test, then it is a very rare event.
Doctor:You can anyway get the second test to exclude pregnancy.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:yes a dr suggested me to take the tablet mepride on 17th day for 4 days for regularsing my periods and if i take that means i cycle will be 30-35 days only but i have a doubt is that tabelt will act like a contraseptive tablet will it prevent pregancy
Doctor:Pills given for contraception is only effective when taken regularly throughout menstrual cycle.
Doctor:So trust your gynecologist and follow their advice.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:yes dr thanks for the valuable advise i will consult with the dr before trip
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye fornow.
User:bye dr
