Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   How can i help you
User :   hi there doc!
User :   just want to ask something about minimal tuberculosis
User :   just got my xray reading last monday..the diagnosis was i have minimal tb
Doctor :   Ok..
User :   now my problem is i'm currently employed
User :   so do you think my employer will still allow me to go to work?
User :   is minimal tb contagious?
Doctor :   Have you got the Sputum or the specimen form your throat tested for the Tubercle bacilli.
User :   nope, i only had a chest PA xray something..
User :   as my doctor advised
Doctor :   Do you get cough with sputum? If yes how much do you produce?
User :   i did not actually expected that would be the diagnosis coz i don't have a cough or anything..just some allergic rhinitis that i've been suffering for years
Doctor :   Ok..
Doctor :   Then in that case you would need to take some anti-biotics for a week or 10 days
Doctor :   If it is nothing to do with Tuberculosis the you will be fine with this itself
Doctor :   If not then you would need to get the throat swab for the collections tested
Doctor :   For Tuberculosis bacilli..
Doctor :   and if positive take the appropriate medications..
User :   my doctor prescribed me with some nasal spray for maintenance and some antiTB drug called triofix
User :   it's just that i can't believe i got this TB thing.. i mean i don't smoke at all
Doctor :   It has nothing to do with smoking its all about your resistance to the bacilli, since most of them are exposed to the
Doctor :   bacilli but it only depends on your resistance that decides if you get Tb or not.
Doctor :   Always cover your mouth with a tissue when you cough, sneeze, or laugh.
Doctor :   Put the tissue in a closed bag and throw it away.
Doctor :   To prevent it form spreading to the others
Doctor :   TB is spread through the air. People cannot get infected with TB bacteria through handshakes, sitting on toilet seats, or sharing dishes and utensils with someone who has TB.
User :   so a minimal tb is contagious? i thought it's same as latent tb which is not contagious as ive known..
Doctor :   It depends on the presence of the
Doctor :   bacilli in the
Doctor :   Sputum
User :   i see.. thanks doc! i'm just hoping i'd still be allowed to go to work.. if not well..that's life..:)
Doctor :   anything else you would like to know
Doctor :   from me
Doctor :   are you therer
User :   yup doc still here
User :   u mean personally..or medically? :)
Doctor :   Tell me
Doctor :   At work you will need to follow these measures that i mentioned then tere is
Doctor :   noting for yo u to worry about being contagious since you will not be spreading.
User :   got that doc..hopefully i can go back to work by monday
