User :   my blood pressure is 162 over 99, what should i do?

Doctor :   Do you have diagnosed High BP, diabetes or High cholesterol ?

Doctor :   i mean the higher than normal reading ?
User :   i get it every once in a while, when i get really stressed out
Doctor :   yes , stress is a cause where BP rises
Doctor :   did you get it checked by a processional ?
User :   can it also cause numbness to R side?
Doctor :   no. i do not think the rise in theBP can cause numbness on one side
Doctor :   Bp in the stress and after exercise will be always high , hence i advice you to get your BP checked 3 consecutive days in rest timings
Doctor :   i mean after a brief period of rest
User :   how about anxiety or nervousness?
User :   Everytime i have an episode, i end up at the dr's office.
Doctor :   yes, rise in BP when more than 150/90 anxiety and nervousness can be expected
Doctor :   get your BP checked 3 consecutive days, if the readings are consistently high as high as 140/90 then there is need of you being put on medication
User :   Ive had EKG, 2D echo and 24 halter monitor done, and everything is normal. Why do i get this way?
Doctor :   i think the problem in you is due the stress
Doctor :   employ methods like yoga, aerobics or meditation to alleviate stress
Doctor :   that will bring a solution
Doctor :   also restrict salt intake
Doctor :   this will help you in maintaining the BP

User :   i thought water helped to lower your BP
Doctor :   no, more the water in body more the blood volume , more the blood volume ,more strong the heart beats pushing the blood in more pressure
User :   how about potassium intake
Doctor :   potassium has no direct connection with the BP but yes has an influence on heart ,but this cannot be achieved by diet
User :   so what can i do now?
Doctor :   Restrict the salt and water and get the BP checked on 3 consecutive days if its above 130/90 then you have to placed on medication
Doctor :   Consult a general physician for the purpose
