User :   I am 35 weeks pregnant. How much should my belly measure?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hi
Doctor :   there is nothing called the size of measurement of belly at 35 weeks or any other weeks.
Doctor :   what is seen is the what is the height of uterus at 35 weeks
Doctor :   that is done by the gynecologist while physical examination
Doctor :   and usually the height of the uterus will be at near the rib cage during the 35 weeks
User :   At my practioner visits,my doctor measures my stomache. Well I measure 42 cm when I am 35 weeks pregnant. I wanted to see if thats what it is suppose to be
Doctor :   he measures the girth to know the growth rate ?
Doctor :   i mean
Doctor :   the rate of increase in the size of the abdomen girth
Doctor :   the rate of increase in the growth rate is one of the indicator of fetal well being
User :   so he said next week we are going to talk.(after he measured me)" So i believe he might induce me. I was in the hospital 4 times for pre term labor. He told me that the measurement of my belly(pubic bone to underneath my breast)are suppose to be close to my weeks.give or take 2 weeks. For ex. at 25 weeks pregnant you should measure at 23 or 27. If thats true. I am WAY OFF!
Doctor :   measurement of my belly pubic bone to underneath my breast - it is the assessment of the uterus height
Doctor :   and you are right it will tell the weeks of pregnancy
Doctor :   as i said the uterus should be some where near the lower part of the rib cage.
User :   so what do I expect when he meant me and him needed to talk. DO you think he is going to induce me?
Doctor :   since you are 35 weeks and a known case of premature labor what he might have meant that he will talk to you is
Doctor :   probably indicating you may require early admission to the hospital and labor induction
Doctor :   35 weeks means baby is well mature to be given birth
User :   thats what I thought. Thats great news!So basically thats what hes gonna do right?
Doctor :   you have two options one ie early admission and induction of labour and the other way is early admission and wait for the spontaneous labour. since there is history of premature labour it is very unlikely you can be allowed to stay at home and present to the hospital when there is labour pains
