User :   I had a white lump beside my right ear for years now. Well I became tired of looking at it and decided to squeeze it. It made a hissing sound and a lot of clear fluid came out and a tiny white speck. I figured that would be the end of it but a few days later it swelled back up but this time it was red and very sore. Well its so large that the pressure on my temple area gave me a headache so I started taking some cephalexin I had left from and abcess tooth. It helped none so I numbed it with ice and pushed a sterilized safety pin through it. Very little dark yellow thick pus came out. Well now the thing is the size of a globe grape so sore I can't take and is starting to swell down my neck.
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello
Doctor :
Doctor :   Let me read your query

Doctor :   Did you recnetly have any cuts over the region while shaving
User :   no, i am a female no shaving, however i have noticed that i never had any acne until the doc changed my birth control from depo to cryselle
Doctor :   Sorry
Doctor :   The most probable cause is an infection involving the mandible

Doctor :   This will require better antibiotics like cefexime for a week
Doctor :   Along with topical antibiotics
Doctor :   And hot fomentation will also help
Doctor :   Your age?
Doctor :   Are you a known diabetic?
User :   how did a zit become a mandible infection. I have used hot compresses every day twice a day but it only gets bigger
User :   30, no diabetes
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   The location specifies it and such long standing nodules are common in mandible
Doctor :   Probably spread from tooth infection
Doctor :   Or during procedures of root canal
User :   the root canal was on opposite side and I have had no dental work on that side of my mouth
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :   Did you have instances of fever after the procedure
User :   no
Doctor :   The side will not matter they spread through lymph nodes
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Then there are chances only for superficial bacterila infection
Doctor :   Do you use anykind of hair dyes/ cosmetic products
User :   hair dye and makeup
Doctor :   The other Causes are chemical irritation / contact dermatitis / bacterial abscess

Doctor :   Did you ever consult for the lump as suggested to have it from two years
User :   I am also reading the symptoms to mandibular infection and I have none of those symptoms.
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :   So there is an superficial infection present now
User :   No consult on lump just researched online and it looked like a possible cyst
Doctor :   And avoid squeexing that will spread
Doctor :   I rather feel you need to be examined

Doctor :   If you have an pic can forward me at YYYY@YYYY
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Bye for now
