User :   Hi there, just a question about testicular lumps. I had a 'floating' 3mm cyst diagnosed by U/S on top of my left testicle some years ago. I have noticed a 'connected' little lump on the lower inside part of the same testicle & am concerned as it is attached that there might be a legit problem this time. Could it just be an attached cyst as opposed to the other floating one?
Doctor :   hi
User :   Hi there
Doctor :   because it is in different location it is anatomically seperated
User :   Couple of other things to add, the 3mm cyst I was told was nothing to be concerned about, not sure if this other 1 might be different. & other thing to add doc, I had an undescended right testicle as a boy, had an op. to correct it when i was 9yrs. old & was wondering if that has any bearing on risk factors for cancer.
Doctor :   if the right testicle is undescended, right one is at risk
Doctor :   The mass is in left testicle
Doctor :   so get the Ultrasound again
Doctor :   and define the extent of mass
Doctor :   But as a whole testicle is one organ so any any masses in side the one testicle are related
Doctor :   Some times even normal parts when u feel abnomral
User :   Will do. I have never had a cyst or any other irregularity on the right one, only the left one which was descended normally as far as I know (my scar is on the right side).
Doctor :   u can not rely on ur examination
Doctor :   ok
User :   How aggressively can test. cancer advance, fast? slow?
Doctor :   yea, I want to insit that undescended testies is at risk but it is good and release intime
Doctor :   so it is not cancer
Doctor :   What ever u feel cyst in left one may be simple cyst
Doctor :   and u need physical examination and Ultrasound
Doctor :   if it is simple cyst or normal anatomy, you can just watch
Doctor :   But because it is desceneded, it willnot be abnomral mass
User :   I will organise it very soon. IF it were cancer, do test. tumors grow aggressively or does it depend on the individual?
Doctor :   testicular tumors do not grwo fast
User :   So they dont threaten life quickly?
Doctor :   They grow very slowly because of tight anatomy of testicle
User :   That is good to know.
Doctor :   here at this point you need Ultrasound and physical examination
Doctor :   And one chemical test called CA 125
User :   Thankyou doc. I will organise it tomorrow. Is that all I need to know: U/S, physical & CA 125?
Doctor :   Yes
User :   Thanks.
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting
Doctor :   Take care
Doctor :   Bye
