User :   HiIve a lesion which looks pink/purple in my right nostril. It doesnt hurt but is often wet, waxy and the ENT doc thinks its a wart. When he took a ct scan it shows right side sinus complete opacification.Ive had septoplasty and trimmed turbinates done 10 years ago.Im terrified of op to remove all this as I fractured my skull 6 years ago ,had spontaneous csf which stopped on its own accord so no surgery then. But I think my leak is active again.Would this be dangerous if he operates now?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr.... here
Doctor :   Let me read your query
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   CSF leak due to fracture being active now
Doctor :   would have been detected on CT
Doctor :   so that is not that likely
Doctor :   but to minimize the danger
Doctor :   risk I mean
Doctor :   do get a second opinion from a neurosurgeon
User :   Would the wart secrete wetness?
Doctor :   before going ahead with secretion
Doctor :   yes, it can secrete
User :   The wart has changed colour from pink to purple in one area in the last few days .does this mean anything?
Doctor :   It means change in vascularity
Doctor :   or a superinfection with another bacteria or fungi
User :   is this significant .?also is there a connection between having a wart or growth [its on my septum] and having opacified snus ct scan/
Doctor :   no relation b/w the 2 as such
Doctor :   but the possibility could be either
Doctor :   like an infection can secrete such fluid
Doctor :   if it is a growth
Doctor :   it can interfere with sinus airways
Doctor :   and the obstruction can cause that opacity
User :   will i be in hospital long and will it hurt much afterwards
Doctor :   due to collection of fluid
Doctor :   No, it does not hurt, after the procedure
Doctor :   you shall have to be discharged by day 5, most of the occasions
User :   i dont smoke im 57 ok healthwise dont do drink at all or drugs so what chance cancer
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   cancerous lesions, there are certain characteristics
Doctor :   like painless lesion initially
Doctor :   and rapid growth
Doctor :   like increasing size
User :   this lump appeared at least 4 years ago but has got bigger this last 6 months
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   that is a favorable sign
Doctor :   and hence cancer possibility is less
User :   it doent hurt it never has but its now bothering me and its in the way of my breathing so will i definitely have to get it removed ?
Doctor :   due to its obvious physical interference
Doctor :   it should be removed
