User :   Over a week, ago the thursday before this week
User :   I had knee pain
User :   i thought it was nothing, wore an ace bandage, went to an xmas party danced a lot

User :   extreme swelling and pain

User :   I saw my PCP, she referred me to an ortho, been using crutches and taking advil
User :   xrays were fine, they took fluid from my knee and did blood tests
User :   fluid was turbid, indicated disease, blood tests were positive for lyme

User :   when I saw the orthopedist, my knee was not very swollen and better than ever had been
User :   since than, swelling is immense. my knee looks mutated. it is very painful and difficult to manage, very heavy
User :   it looks like a have half a grapefruit above my knee, and i feel it easing under my kneecap which feels like it is pushing out,and its beginnig to swell below

User :   my foot is feeling numb and calf very tense
User :   i dont have an appt with an infectious disease doc until the third
User :   due to insurance issues
User :   I am wondering if this extreme swelling is am emergency, if i am causing myself permanent or mroe server damage
User :   Basically my doctor told me "you have lyme disease" and aboslutely nothing else. it is very scary.
Doctor :   Ok in case of tick bites knee pain,swelling and rash is the most common symptom.

User :   does swelling get to the point of dangerous
Doctor :   No it actually gets ccured or subsides over a period of time.
User :   so i am not causing myself further tissue damage or prolonging my recovery?
Doctor :   If your orthopedician is following up the case i think you need not consult an infectious diszease specialist.

User :   how would i even get treatment then
Doctor :   Follow his advise.
User :   an orthopedist doesnt do anything
User :   i don't tihnk you know what youre talking about, i literally gained nothing from this
