User :   The results of my at home kidney screen test (which I mailed in to a lab) came back with elevated microalbuminuria of 183 out of range. They sent me an A1C test which came out 5.9. How much concern is the elevated kidney screen and do you think it might have been caused by 10 months of off and on Atkins and 40 lb weight loss or tons of different vitamins I've been taking (including a 2 week phase of putting cream of tartar on everything in order to raise potassium)
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   let me read ur query
Doctor :   Your AIC is to test for diabetes and is within normal range

Doctor :   Can u tell me your age, and other medical conditions if any ?
User :   age 53, used to have high blood pressure but off meds since July and since lost weight
Doctor :   how is ur BP now ?

User :   normal range 117/76
Doctor :   the high microalbuminuria could be due to long standing Hypertension , and if not controlled with medicines
Doctor :   How often do u check ur BP ?
User :   I check it daily since July (previously had high BP for several years and was overweight. last december chest pains and 6.9 A1C but January began loosing weight and all is improved. blood test in June was perfect for everything so this change is since June)
Doctor :   So now everything is perfect witih a better AIC & good bP control

Doctor :   Have u checked ur urine for protien loss ? (Urine proteinuria) ?
User :   only albumin/creatinine ratio test from WWW.WWWW.WW mail in
Doctor :   thats fine
User :   well how much concern is out of range 183
Doctor :   As such there is no need to worry, and most things are under control
User :   too many vitamins (was taking about 20 different things) or too long atkins
Doctor :   those are not associated with this
User :   so it will come back down to normal range soon?
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   within the next year to 6 months
User :   !!!!! I was hoping for within a month. I'll be seeing my cardiologist 6 mo checkup tues. will he like to know about this test
Doctor :   sure

User :   ok guess that's all. I'll stop worrying too much for the time being. bye
Doctor :   he will be glad to give u more info and calm u down too.
Doctor :   thanks and bye for now
