Doctor :   how can I help you?
User :   well, i have a skin problem for more than a year now. I get this itching and when i scratch, it leaves a red patch around that area. However the redness disappears after a few minutes. The itching is generally on my legs, hands and chest area. Also feet and palms, around my fingers and so on.

User :   i have been taking levocet and famocid every day for over a year now
User :   so when i take these tablets, there is no itching. but if i fail to take it, then the itching comes back
Doctor :   have you consulted a dermatologist?
User :   yes i have.........and he prescribed these tablets for me
Doctor :   so - you have no rashes? any noticable change on your skin?
User :   well, is kind of a rash u skin turns red when i scratch and the redness goes off after 30 min or 1 hr
Doctor :   Do you have nay other health problems?
User :   no
Doctor :   did you get any blood tests done?
User :   no i havent got that done
Doctor :   is there anytime that the itching increases/ decreases - other than with medication
User :   it increases in the nights

Doctor :   have you taken a dose of deworming?

User :   havent taken deworming tablets for a few yrs now
Doctor :   do you have excessively dry skin?
User :   its dry, but not very.........i have dandruff issues as well
Doctor :   OK- from what you have told me there is a possibility- that you have a worm infestation
Doctor :   do se your GP for a prescription- as it is not available without that
Doctor :   skin dryness can also cause itching- which gets worse in winter
User :   will a gp be able to help me with that?
Doctor :   with the prescription for the de worming yes
User :   am sure its not just skin dryness......its something more than that
Doctor :   see if your problem improves after that
Doctor :   try avoiding very hot water bath- use warm water
User :   yeah i can try deworming and see if it helps........thers no harm in trying right
Doctor :   no- as you have no t other health issues
User :   cool, thanks a lot
Doctor :   if you still have the problem- you will need to see another dermat for a second opinion
User :   will see a gp today

User :   if this deworming doesnt help, then i shud see a dermat
