User:am XXXXXXX wife
Doctor:Please proceed with your query.
User:am 34 weeks pregnant.... planning to go to XXXXXXX for delivery... so will be travelling this saturday
Doctor:Ok
User:my gyno has suggested to take a scan before i travel...
Doctor:That's a good move.
User:just want to know whether.. whether i can take the scan at my native
Doctor:Where are you currently located?
Doctor:I agree with your gynecologist opinion.
Doctor:Generally travelling is not a major concern, but since you are close to term, its always better to perform the scan before the travel.
User:am staying at XXXXXXX
Doctor:You can get the scan done now before the travel.
User:ok...thanks doctor...
Doctor:Do you have any other questions?
User:also want to know from wn can we expect baby to be born'
Doctor:By definition term pregnancy is when you complete 36 weeks.
Doctor:If you have EDD dates from your first scan
Doctor:you can expect labor to start on those days +/- 2 weeks.
Doctor:But I tell my patients to be prepared for delivery once they complete 36 weeks.
Doctor:So that's in another 2 weeks from now.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:ok... my EDD date as per calculation is Aug 19... whereas in the scan it is mentioned as aug 15
User:ok.. so i can start expecting from 36 weeks
Doctor:August 15 EDD is based on your first scan right?
Doctor:Once you finish 36 weeks, you enter term pregnancy.
User:s doc
Doctor:That indicates you should start preparing.
Doctor:And if I have to be very precise, Aug 15 +/- 2 weeks will be the more closer dates.
User:ok.. but want to know y is this diff of date scan vs calculation
Doctor:Dating scan is based on measurements of your baby - as documented by the sonographer, therefore there is always a difference of +/- 2 weeks.
Doctor:In other words, EDD based on dating scan is in a range of over 2 weeks.
Doctor:EDD calculated based on Negli's formula (period date) is a rough estimation when you will reach 40 weeks.
Doctor:So for all practical purposes we use EED based on dating scan.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:ok... got it
Doctor:Do you have any more queries?
User:also my doc so far has not told anything about baby weight...
Doctor:Baby weight is always documented on ultrasound scan.
Doctor:You can check for yourself.
Doctor:Is there any other question?
User:ok.. thanks doc
User:tats all for nw
Doctor:Thanks for visiting me here. Bye for now.
