User:Hello Sir
Please proceed with your query
User:I have some query regarding my wife's pregnency
User:it regarding the normal dilivery vs c section
User:As you know now a days normal delivery is very rare
Doctor:not true, normal deliveries are more common statistically worldwide
User:but what about india?
Doctor:as of a census taken by the New England Journal of Medicine in 2012
User:ok sir
User:let me come to the point
Doctor:in XXXXXXX it is vastly more common, remember, surgical services are thin outside of the larger cities
User:actually my wife is 38 weeks pregnent
User:the Ultrasound we did yesterday says the AFI = 8.4
User:while the normal is 8 to 24
Doctor:ya, borderline
User:we wanted to have a normal delivery
Doctor:well, one thing to remember is that the AFI index will drop below the average of 14 as the delivery time comes near
Doctor:has the doctor indicated that they do not want a normal delivery?
User:but the doctor we are refering right now has started saying lets see what to do.
User:no not clearly but she is saying look for a good day we may think of c section
User:I and my wife are upset with this.
Doctor:ok, well. What most of todays guidelines say is that you should try for a normal delivery and only if the baby is in distress or if mom is in danger then they convert to c-section
User:but definietly if there is any problem we are ok for c section.
Doctor:i think that is a good attitude. Just make sure that the OBGYN is on the same page
User:Sir but the impression we have gather by talking to differnt people and even some nurses and some doctors who are not gynocologists
User:is that the doctors today try to go for c section because of lot of reasons which i don't want to state.
User:however i wanted to have some tips from you
Doctor:well the first thing i should say is that i'm not an OBGYN either, i'm a Neurologist by training
Doctor:ok, what tips can i help you with
User:so that if the doctor on the d day or some other day comes to me and asks for opinion what all things I as a lay man can see to as that I wouldn't have time to discuss this on chat with anybody on Health Care Magic.
Doctor:i understand
Doctor:it's always good to have a plan and investigate these things in advance
Doctor:so by all means, what information can i help you with?
User:sir i think i should upload my report and send my query to a specialist to suggest whether to go for c section or normal delivery
User:goodnight sir
Doctor:ok, goodnight
