User:Hello Doctor
User:hope you remember me
User:This is regarding my wife who is 18 weeks pregnant
User:I have some queries
User:we had an untrasound scan
Doctor:proceed with your question.
Doctor:Yes, XXXXXXX
User:babys fetal heart rate is 133bpm.. is this normal?
Doctor:Yes, this is fine.
User:she has been diagnosed with utrene resistence, how will it impact the baby?
Doctor:I would be concerned if heart rate goes above 160 - 180 beats per minute.
Doctor:I do not completely understand what uterine resistance means.
Doctor:Can you describe her current symptoms
Doctor:and what tests were performed before the doctor arrived at this diagnosis?
User:Uterine Artery Dopplers: Screen positive for PET (MEAN: 1.9)
User:what does this mean?
User:she had an anamoly scan
User:everything she said is fine
User:except two things
User:there is some blockage.. she said.. which we could not understand
User:and after repeated scanning.. she could not verify the four chambers of heart
Doctor:As a physician my experience is limited with Uterine artery doppler.
User:she has asked for rescan of heart after 2 weeks
User:who can provide me more details on it?
Doctor:Perhaps what it means is the uterine artery which is part of the blood vessel is slightly blocked.
Doctor:It shouldn't affect the child as long as the growth and development of the baby is fine on ultrasound scan.
Doctor:You can discuss about the fetal doppler scans in detail with a radiologist or an obstetrician.
User:as per her LMP the progress is 18 weeks and 4 days
Doctor:You can either take a second opinion from a real doctor or use HealthcareMagic portal to post a question to the specialist.
User:but actual growth is 18week 1 day
Doctor:Difference of +/- 4 weeks is acceptable.
User:? is the growth worrisome
Doctor:Since the baby is growing fine within this acceptable limits
Doctor:I wouldn't be concerned.
Doctor:In another 2-4 weeks all his internal organs would have formed
Doctor:and are capable of surviving the external world.
User:what changed she has to bring to her diet for good Baby's growth?
Doctor:She needs to add on some more calories as she inches closes to 6 months.
Doctor:However since she has thyroid issues, there are some dietary restrictions applicable.
User:now he is taking pregnacare as multivitamin and calcimax
User:what are the restrictions?
User:she is vegeterian
User:weight of the baby is 214 gms
User:you there?
Doctor:Soya products, millets, cabbage, cauliflower, spinach, pears, peaches, radish, turnips, sweet potatoes, peanuts are some food that I am aware of which interfere with thyroid problem.
Doctor:You need to restrict them.
Doctor:You can search for goitrogenic food list from the web and reduce them.
Doctor:Besides those goitrogenic diet, encourage her to eat those that are high in calories.
Doctor:May be not everything now; but must after 6 months.
Doctor:Baby weight is fine.\
Doctor:So don't be worried.
Doctor:Did you follow what I said?
Doctor:Do you have any more queries?
User:she has to completely avoid taking peanuts, cabbage and cauliflower?
User:Cheese, milk, bread can be taken?
Doctor:They contain factors that inhibit thyroid hormone productions. Prefer to restrict those goitrogenic food.
Doctor:I am ok with cheese, milk and bread.
User:her thyroid level is 2 mul right now
Doctor:Do you mean her TSH level is at 2.
Doctor:I am happy with this number.
Doctor:However there are studies that reveal goitrogenic products can affect hormone production thereby leading to increased thyroid supplements.
Doctor:I don't mean she need to completely stop those products
Doctor:i would definitely like her to restrict them in her diet.
User:she doesnot consume these products too much
Doctor:If the thyroid hormones get affected, gradually decline and stop them.
User:I will contact you again after 16th april
