Is fetal heart rate of 133bpm, normal? - Online Doctor Chats
Please proceed with your query
How are you?
hope you remember me
This is regarding my wife who is 18 weeks pregnant
I have some queries
we had an untrasound scan
proceed with your question.
Yes, this is fine.
she has been diagnosed with utrene resistence, how will it impact the baby?
I would be concerned if heart rate goes above 160 - 180 beats per minute.
I do not completely understand what uterine resistance means.
Can you describe her current symptoms
and what tests were performed before the doctor arrived at this diagnosis?
what does this mean?
she had an anamoly scan
everything she said is fine
except two things
there is some blockage.. she said.. which we could not understand
and after repeated scanning.. she could not verify the four chambers of heart
As a physician my experience is limited with Uterine artery doppler.
she has asked for rescan of heart after 2 weeks
who can provide me more details on it?
Perhaps what it means is the uterine artery which is part of the blood vessel is slightly blocked.
It shouldn't affect the child as long as the growth and development of the baby is fine on ultrasound scan.
as per her LMP the progress is 18 weeks and 4 days
You can either take a second opinion from a real doctor or use HealthcareMagic portal to post a question to the specialist.
but actual growth is 18week 1 day
Difference of +/- 4 weeks is acceptable.
? is the growth worrisome
Since the baby is growing fine within this acceptable limits
I wouldn't be concerned.
In another 2-4 weeks all his internal organs would have formed
and are capable of surviving the external world.
what changed she has to bring to her diet for good Baby's growth?
She needs to add on some more calories as she inches closes to 6 months.
what are the restrictions?
she is vegeterian
weight of the baby is 214 gms
Soya products, millets, cabbage, cauliflower, spinach, pears, peaches, radish, turnips, sweet potatoes, peanuts are some food that I am aware of which interfere with thyroid problem.
You need to restrict them.
You can search for goitrogenic food list from the web and reduce them.
Besides those goitrogenic diet, encourage her to eat those that are high in calories.
May be not everything now; but must after 6 months.
Baby weight is fine.\
So don't be worried.
Did you follow what I said?
Do you have any more queries?
she has to completely avoid taking peanuts, cabbage and cauliflower?
Cheese, milk, bread can be taken?
They contain factors that inhibit thyroid hormone productions. Prefer to restrict those goitrogenic food.
I am ok with cheese, milk and bread.
her thyroid level is 2 mul right now
I am happy with this number.
However there are studies that reveal goitrogenic products can affect hormone production thereby leading to increased thyroid supplements.
I don't mean she need to completely stop those products
i would definitely like her to restrict them in her diet.
she doesnot consume these products too much
If the thyroid hormones get affected, gradually decline and stop them.
I will contact you again after 16th april
she will be going for an review scan for heart on 16th
Good luck with the test.
