Doctor :   Dr. here

User :   Hello
User :   I have a question regarding male infertility
Doctor :   ok. please proceed
User :   Is HCG injection given to increase sperm count? If so what is procedure
User :   how many injections and at what intervals
Doctor :   what was th eproblem diagnosed for you?
Doctor :   was semen analysis done? if yes, what was the report?
User :   Ok Semen analysis says no sperm count but the blood test says hormone levels are fine
Doctor :   ok. was further tests done to look for cause of absence of sperms?
Doctor :   i mean to ask was it diagnosed whether it was an obstructive cause or non-obstructive cause?
User :   there were two tests done, at first semen analysis sperm count was less, but second tests showed no sperm count
User :   further test done like blood test to check the hormones
User :   they are fine
Doctor :   ok. was any doppler scan done for testes?
User :   nopes
Doctor :   was testicular biopsy done to look for production issues?
User :   iam asking this for my brother, not for me. he stays in UK and wanted to know if the treatment is correct
User :   there was no further test done except for blood tests
User :   doctor now suggested HCG injection 4 times a week to see if sperm count increases. My brother is worried if its the right treatment
Doctor :   in that case first the exact cause should be looked for.
User :   is HCG injection safe to take?
User :   for men?
User :   I know this is given for female to induce ovulation
User :   but dint have an idea using this to increase sperm count
Doctor :   yes, it is safe, and if production is an issue, then it is given to increase counts
User :   what is the course of injection
User :   is it fine to take 4 times a week for 2 months?
Doctor :   it depnds on the condition of teh patient and is decided by the treating doctor
Doctor :   I cannot comment on the dose, since I have not examined him personally or seen his reports
User :   Ok
User :   suppose the sperm count does not increase, would ICSI help?
User :   ICSI with IVF?
Doctor :   it should help. ICSI is better option than IVF
User :   Ok thanks
User :   I have another question regarding me
User :   I have endometriosis which is treated with Laproscopy and Lupride injection, I then underwent Ovulation induction for 5 cycles but did not suceed
Doctor :   ok
User :   i had taken all blood tests to check hormone levels, scans to see organs and follicle maturity and so on
User :   everything is fine now
User :   i had HSG test last week
User :   The X ray result do not show any kind of visible shapes for Uterus and fallopian tubes
User :   Is that mean both of tubes are blocked?
Doctor :   could you describe the HSG in detail. what did it show? if you have the report with you, please type it out here
User :   I donot have any written report. They gave me just the Xray and i could not mee the doctor yet
Doctor :   then wait till you consult your gynecologist about the report
Doctor :   to see what interpretation can be made
User :   they injected the dye first but it did not go in, so second time they did the same, dye went in, but the xray result donot show any triangle shape for the uterus and any spills on either side
User :   ok
Doctor :   the lack of spill does indicate blocked tubes
User :   my laproscopy result said i had one blocked tube and one patent tube
User :   can i go for IUI?
Doctor :   but the shape of uterus not being triangle could mean further problems
User :   or should i go for tubal recanalisation?
Doctor :   the shape and type of uterus needs to be confirmed before going for any infertility treatment.
User :   the scan report said size and shape of uterus is normal
User :   also my laprocopy report sais the same
Doctor :   the internal details rae required as confirmed with HSG
Doctor :   sometimes uterus can be septate or bicornuate
User :   Ok
Doctor :   and in such cases, pregnancy continuation even if pregnancy results is risky
User :   ok
User :   Is there treatment for that?
Doctor :   so the uterus type has to be confirmed.
User :   Will laproscopy help in that case?
Doctor :   depending on the problem, correction can be done surgically.
User :   ok
Doctor :   for more details you can discuss with our panel gynecologist/infertility specialist
User :   Ok
User :   My only doubt was ; could it be possible that the HSG test was not done properly and could it be the reason why i donot see any shapes in the xray?
Doctor :   we cannot say unless we see the report. if in doubt, it should be repeated under supervision of your gynecologist
Doctor :
User :   Ok Thanks a lot for your answers
User :   I would end the chat now
User :   Thank you Doctor AAAAAAA
Doctor :   ok. is there anything else I can help you?
User :   Thanks
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
