Doctor :   hello
User :   hello
Doctor :   how can i help you ?
User :   i am a 21 year old woman
Doctor :   ok
User :   i recently went to the hospital
User :   *health center
Doctor :   ok
User :   to have the doctor check out a lump in my lower groin area
User :   i didnt know if it could be a swollen lymph node
User :   or an ingrown hair
User :   i didnt have any symptoms before
User :   i just wanted to check it out
User :   he said it looked like an ingrown hair
Doctor :   ok
User :   and he said that if it was a swollen lymph node, that it didnt look bad
User :   he prescribed erythromycin
Doctor :   ok
User :   and said to wait 10 days and have a follow up
User :   i have been taking the drug for 2 days
User :   the lump had already shrunk before i went to the doctor
User :   and with the medicine it shrunk a bit
User :   but not much
Doctor :   ok
User :   im concerned that it wont shrink anymore even with the medicine
User :   im concerned it may be cancerous
Doctor :   well 2 days is a very short duration
Doctor :   you need to take the complete course
Doctor :   do you have any history of recent weight loss ?
User :   no
User :   i dont
Doctor :   any other medical problem ?
User :   no
Doctor :   well
Doctor :   dont worry
Doctor :   it cannot be cancer
User :   really?
Doctor :   yes i assure you thet
Doctor :   that
Doctor :   you have no signs that suggest it so
Doctor :   just make sure you take the complete course
Doctor :   and do you smoke or consume alcohol ?
User :   no
Doctor :   well thats good
User :   what would happen if the lump didnt completely go away after the course of medication?
Doctor :   trust me it will ... if its shrinking that means its responding to the treatment
User :   also
User :   i keep throwing up an hour or so after ingesting the drug
User :   i eat something with it
User :   since its so strong
Doctor :   try eating yogurt
User :   i am
Doctor :   that will ease the stomach
User :   when i throw up it's pure bile
Doctor :   and lots of water
User :   i talked to a pharmacist and he said that throwing up pure bile was normal
User :   since the food had probably already left my system
User :   i just want a second opinion
Doctor :   erythromycin is known for causing nausea
Doctor :   and sometime upset stomach
Doctor :   well dont worry the body will get used to it
Doctor :   and you will be firn
User :   im just a little anxious that it wont go away
Doctor :   fine**
User :   i keep touching it to see if it's shrinking
Doctor :   well PLEASE DONT
Doctor :   you will infect it
User :   i see
User :   so i'll just leave it alone from nwo on
User :   *now
Doctor :   thats correct
User :   also the doctor said something about a hot compress
User :   should i place it directly on there
Doctor :   that will ease and increase circulation causing a faster recovery
Doctor :   yes you can place directly
User :   thank you
Doctor :   your most welcome
User :   i have one more question
Doctor :   sure
User :   in the occassion that the lump doesnt go away, would that mean that it's a tumor?
Doctor :   no
Doctor :   IT CANNOT BE
User :   can u explain why
Doctor :   because an ingrown hair does no causes cancer
Doctor :   nor you have any weight loss
User :   yea
User :   im just concerned because the physican said he couldnt feel much
User :   he did pat down on the area i located
User :   pretty well
User :   but if one were to pat it down from the top like he did, he couldnt feel much
Doctor :   ok
User :   but when i pinch the sides of it
User :   i can feel more
Doctor :   well please dont touch it
User :   because it'll just make it worse
Doctor :   yes
User :   is there a way that the doctor could distinguish between an ingrown hair and a swollen lymph node?
User :   im just concerned since he just patted with his fingers
User :   before i went i had tried to pop it and get it to the surface since it was below the skin
User :   and so it was a little bruised
User :   but that has gone away
User :   hello?
Doctor :   there was a technical problem
User :   oh
Doctor :   dont worry all your queries will be answered
User :   my question was how my doctor could differentiate between a swollen lymph node and an ingrown air
User :   *HAIR
Doctor :   you see ingrown hair can cause infection
Doctor :   and a sign of infection is swollen node
Doctor :   so they are connected
User :   i see
User :   he mentioned something like that but i was confused
User :   he said that "even if it was a lymph node" that it would drain out
User :   so in the end i was lost
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   dont worry
User :   and didnt know whether it was a lymph node or an ingrown hair
User :   finally
User :   i just started my menstrual period today
Doctor :   ok
User :   will that have any effect on anything?
Doctor :   no not at all
User :   i see
User :   thank you very much
User :   you have been a lot of help
Doctor :   your most welcome
User :   i was quite scared about it
Doctor :   sorry for the tech problem
Doctor :   dont worry
Doctor :   you will be fine
User :   thank you
Doctor :   your welcome
Doctor :   good bye
User :   goodbye
