Doctor :   Hi,
User :   Hi,
Doctor :   yes, proceed with your query
User :   I was looking for opinion regarding Infertility
Doctor :   yes,
Doctor :   please proceed
User :   I was diagnosed with a low sperm count and after having medicines, it came up to about 20 million/ml
User :   with 40% motility
Doctor :   ok,
User :   I got myself checked n PSG Hospital, Coimbatore and i was told that it would be difficult for my wife to conceive normally
User :   These are the results from the test
Doctor :   ok,
User :   Testosterone: 2.64 ng/ml
User :   Antisperm Antibody: 55.2 U/mL
Doctor :   ok,
User :   FSH(Serum)6.45 mIU/ml
User :   I was told that since i have a very high Antisperm Antibody its complicated and difficult for me to have a baby without medical assistance
User :   However, i was advise Wysolene table to see if that helps to lower the Antisperm Antibody..
Doctor :   ok,
User :   Now, I would like to know, is there any possiblity for my wife to conceive naturally?
Doctor :   The sperm count is though optimal but is surely favourable for conception
Doctor :   the motility is near normal and it is not a prob
Doctor :   yes, the antibodies are more that is the problem but with the wysolone the chances are expected to rise
User :   I've trie looking into internet regarding this but couldnt get an exact info like what are effects of high Antisperm Antibody
Doctor :   Antisperm antibody production is not normal in al
User :   Also, am right now having Afrodet Plus to increase my count. (The reports mentioned above are while i had Afrodet Plus and another capsule called Rathi)
Doctor :   it the defence of the body to the sperms produced by itself
Doctor :   autoimmune disease
Doctor :   sperms are often considered by our body as foriegn
Doctor :   hence producing antibodies to kill them , bringing the count lower
Doctor :   i may be more in you
Doctor :   it*
User :   So the Wysolene treatment i;m following is that expected to reduce the Antibody levels or what is it intended to.. i heard that its a steroid
Doctor :   the exact cause of it cannot be made
User :   Below is how am prescribed.
User :   Wysolene 2.5 mg initially daily for 2 weeks
Doctor :   yes, it is a steroid and it decreases the immunity ie the production of the antibodies and prevent the killing of the sperms and bring up the count and chances of conception
User :   On third and fourth week one every alternate day
User :   5th and sixth week once in 3 days and then stop wysolene and repeat semen analysis
Doctor :   yes the dosage is good
Doctor :   it is of low dose and tapering course
User :   I'm slightly confused and am looking for a clear i've read in internet that ifertility is unpredictable and treatments might always not produce results
User :   I was informed that after the completion of this procedure if the results are not OK then, i should consider going for sperm wash or IVF or Iscsi depending on doctor's advise
Doctor :   please do not be mislead by the myths in the net , i m sure those articles are not always written by a experienced professional
User :   Well that is why am here to clear the misconceptions :)
User :   and seek right directions of course
Doctor :   yes, you can go for any of the above assisted reproduction tech,
User :   You've had my reports above. What do you recommend and which is the best IVF
Doctor :   first finish the course of wysolone , you may need two such courses with a gap of 2 or 3 months , it takes time for the drug to bring down the autoimmunity
Doctor :   there is a good center
Doctor :   results are good in that institute
Doctor :   now i suggest you to complete the course of wysolone and repeat the sperm count and the antibody levels
User :   Ok.
Doctor :   if the counts are not good , then repeat the course of the wysolone after a gap of 2 or 3 months
Doctor :   if still no sucess then go for assisted tech
Doctor :   since the count is ranging around 20 million the best one for you would be artificial in utero insemination of your sperms after wash and concentration
User :   Ok. Just one final question. i know there is no definite answer for this but still asking... what are the chances that i can have a baby.. Is my case so complicated or i should be easily able to have it via medical assistance
User :   Ok
Doctor :   with the count you mentioned and the antibody levels , i consider the fertility may range from 30 to 40 % of normal in you
User :   Ok Doctor
Doctor :   is there anything i can help you with ?
User :   Well that should be it for now.
User :   Thanks a lot for your explanation and directions
Doctor :   thanks for consultation ,
