User :   I had my nipple pierced on Sunday. That evening I started running a fever and have an intermittent fever for two days now. I have no other symptoms including my pierced nipple does not seem to be swollen or oozing anything other than a bit of blood when I soak with salt water. Any suggestions?
Doctor :   hello
User :   Hello
Doctor :   may i know your age and gender please ?
User :   50 and male
Doctor :   no pain at the piercing site ?
User :   No -- it was painful the day it got pierced, but it seems to be doing fine. I did have a cramp in the upper right quadrant of my abdomin on Monday, but that has since disspated.
Doctor :   so the blood comes out only when you soak it in water
User :   The fever comes and goes, and doesn't seem to get to high. Once it got to 102, but most other times it is right at 100.
Doctor :   so the blood comes out only when you soak it in water ?
User :   No, blood doesn't flow, but when I soak it, I then dry with a clean tissue or paper towel and see a bit of dried blood then. Just a couple of spots
Doctor :   any pus or swelling ?
User :   no
Doctor :   so its its been 3 days now
User :   yes -- but the fever isn't around the clock.
Doctor :   well you do seem to have got an infection, and what you do need is antibiotics
