User :   I have been having sleep problem for over years now.

User :   Cant sleep to well. However recently its aggravated resulting in headache and red eyes in the morning

User :   Weight also has gone up significantly over the last 4 months.

User :   Nope..still a virgin to that.

Doctor :   may i know if you have a history of diabetes , high blood pressure , high cholesterol ,asthma , etc ?
User :   Nope.

User :   History of Pulmonary TB in 1998. Completed the 9 months course then.

User :   Weight issue since then..but nothing otherwise.

User :   I am 5'8'' and weight is not touching 100.
User :   It was in the range of 90 for a long time and this junmp has happened in the last 4 months

User :   No diabetes or Heart ailments. Sisters do have thyroid problems.

Doctor :   may i know if you have done any blood or urine tests ?
User :   Sometime back in Feb'11 when I had fever. But nothing substantial come out.

User :   I get to bed at 2300 hrs and get up at 0700 but I do have a disturbed sleep

User :   Most of the time I am able to get good sleep only after 0300 hrs to 0700 hrs.

Doctor :   do you have any nose block or breathing difficulties at sleep ?
User :   o.
User :   No.

Doctor :   may i know how is your work? do you have any stress related to work ?
User :   Not has been tough in the last 6-7 months but not something that I have on my mind when I am home
User :   But work is mostly sedatory in nature

Doctor :   may i know if you exercise regularly ?
User :   Absolutely nothing on that front. I do go for swims on weekends but nothing otherwise.

User :   However that has been the case for many years now
Doctor :   how is your diet? do you consume lot of coffee/tea?
User :   No. two cups max in a day.

Doctor :   I would to suggest you these things
Doctor :   1. physical activity is very important for a good sleep
Doctor :   2. i suggest you work on this and keep it regular
User :   OK
Doctor :   this will help you with the weight loss and sleep too
Doctor :   the body needs exercise
User :   Anything specifically for headaches and red u think its related to lack of exercise.?
Doctor :   try brisk walk , tennis , yoga, meditation , any type of physical activity
User :   OK.
Doctor :   they are related to lack of sleep , and indirectly due to the fact that the body is not getting enough activity
Doctor :   avoid coffee/tea at least 6 hrs before going to bed
Doctor :   a glass of skimmed milk before bed will be helpful
Doctor :   i would also suggest you get these tests done

Doctor :   1. complete blood profile with hemoglobin
Doctor :   2. ECG
Doctor :   3.Urine analysis
Doctor :   4. Random blood sugar
Doctor :   5.lipid profile
Doctor :   6.thyroid function tests
Doctor :   7. blood urea and serum creatnine
Doctor :   these will really help in finding out if there is a medical cause related to weight gain and sleep problems
Doctor :   before bed time , you could try deep breathing exercises , reading a book , etc
Doctor :   keep the meal at dinner light
User :   Where do I share the test results? Do I then need to consult a general physician with theresults?
Doctor :   yes , you msut consult the General physician and get them done
Doctor :   i would also want to now your blood pressure levels
Doctor :   hence get it examined
