User:Hi Doc.
User:My son shall be 10 years on 9th July. He has been vaccinated every 3 years for chicken pox, as per schedule
User:His next vaccination is due now. The question is - Till how long we get this vaccination for chicken pox? Is it lifelong? Is it a must that we get this done?
User:What happens if we stop? Is it a must that everyone shall have chickenpox in their lifetime?
Doctor:Per the CDC, only two doses between the ages of 4 and 6 are needed.
Doctor:So he has had 3 doses right?
User:What after that doc? Does it means that this chickenpox dose is no longer needed?
Doctor:Nope, no longer needed. the vaccine will be 98% effective at preventing chicken pox for the rest of his life
User:I was checking vaccination records. First dose taken on 2005 (one year). This is the second dose.
Doctor:Then he needs this dose
Doctor:he needs 2 doses.. nothing more
User:Thanks doctor. That was the only question. Bye
Doctor:Happy to help
