Doctor:before the meds were started, may i know how regular your periods were ?
User:pefore i get treatment for pcod, my periods were irregular.. sometimes it come in 45 - 50 days
User:once it didn't come for 3 months, so i consulted teh doctor and cam eto know that it is because of pcod
Doctor:so once treatment started, what was the duration of the periods ?
User:periods were normal during medication. it was coming in 24 days..
User:for 5 days
User:As my periods didnt come regularly in last 2-3 months, i had tab deviry adn now i got my periods
User:i would like to know whether i can try for pregnancy now?
User:Should i take some gap, as i had tab deviry recently?
Doctor:first and foremost, we need to know if you are having proper ovulation
Doctor:in PCOD, it is common for cycles to be anovulatory
Doctor:which means, the egg are not released by the ovaries
Doctor:in case the ovulation is occuring properly, then you can defintiely try to concieve
Doctor:in case , cycles are anovulatory, your doctor can prescribe medications, to cause ovulation, and once ovulation is confirmed, conception can be tried
User:ok. how can i check this?
Doctor:ovulation study can be done with serial ultrasounds
User:ok. so, should i try for 1 month and if i didn't become pregnant, i need to contact a gynacologist
User:and check whether ovulation is happend
Doctor:yes, that is right
Doctor:first , see if you are getting your periods regularly
Doctor:if they are again irregular, then consult your doctor, who after menses will guide you when to have a ultrasound , on specific dates
User:ok. mostly after stopping teh tablets, periods will be normal for 2 months. and then it will get stopped
Doctor:may i know, was the tablets stoped on advice of your doctor ?
User:yes. doctor asked me to continue the tablets for 7-8 months. then stop teh tablets and check whether menstruation is normal
Doctor:so how many months did u take them ?
Doctor:in total ?
User:i have taken it for 7 months
Doctor:do u know if the cysts in the ovary have resolved ?
User:i didn't do a scanning in last 7 months
User:doctor told me that if menstruation is regular, cyst will go with that
User:the cyst was very small.
Doctor:when was the last time you saw your gynae ?
Doctor:persistence of the cysts, or their enlargement can be the cause of your persisting irregular periods
User:i have seen the gynacolost before 8 months
Doctor:and who prescribed you the Deviry tablets , to get your periods ?
User:deviry tablet was given at that time
User:then she asked me to have contraceptive tablets for 7-8 months
Doctor:so, it was prescribed before the Oral contraceptives were given
User:yes.. but at that time, i was not planning for pregnancy.
Doctor:so, you repeated the same tablets, since you were not having periods , IS THIS RIGHT ?
User:but i heard that contraceptrive tablets will have side effects
User:yes. right
Doctor:first and foremost, i would recommend you to consult your gynae now.
Doctor:she will order a ultrasound, to check if, the cysts have resolved or not
Doctor:in addition, she can prescribe you medications, to help u ovulate
Doctor:so , that you can try to concieve within the next cycle itself
User:ok. if i become pregnant even if cysts are there, will it create some problems to the baby?
Doctor:it will not result in any issues
User:ok. as i had deviry tablets recently, and if become pregnant now, will it create any problems
Doctor:no, deviry, tab action will end with the onset of the periods
Doctor:it does not stay in the blood for long duration, to affect the fetus
User:Ok. Thanks a lot doctor. I shall consult my gynacologist and do an ultrasound .
Doctor:OK, YOU are welcome
Doctor:take care and have a good night
