Doctor :   Yes, other than medicines, she needs to follow regular physical exercises like brisk walking
User :   is there any recommendation for exercise or diet that you could recommend
Doctor :   in this she needs to walk with a speed of 6 km per hour for 15 min initially and extending to 30 mins per day.

User :   the other thing is that she is also diagnosed with osteoporosis

Doctor :   Diet restrictions is very important in controlling cholesterol.
User :   should she do less salt and more water etc
Doctor :   She needs to avoid fatty and oily food.
Doctor :   Ask her to go to bed in the night after 2 hrs or more after dinner.
Doctor :   As to let the food to be completely digested before going to bed.
Doctor :   Get her lipid profile every three months if her levels are high.
Doctor :   And once under control get it checked every 1 year.

Doctor :   NO, every sub type of cholesterol has a reference range, if it high then its important to get it checked every three months.
Doctor :   Ask her to take lots of green leafy vegetables and fruits.

Doctor :   It would be better if she avoids completely fatty and oily food in the night and have lots of green leafy vegetables for the dinner

Doctor :   as most of the cholesterol is formed in the night as the enzyme for cholesterol production is only active during night times that is why anti cholesterol medications are prescribed during night times.

Doctor :   As your mother is 60 yrs old, so osteoporosis is a natural process where the calcium is absorbed by the bones for fulfillment of our blood levels.
