User :   i am Hepatitis B positive. This i came to know 4 years back when i undergone minor surgery of corn removal in my foot.

User :   In fact after my confirmation of this., i checked my parents report

User :   it might be inherited, but not sure.
User :   my wife is now pregnant, took necessary vaccination.

Doctor :   Hepatitis B is a viral infection which affects the liver which can cause necrosis of the liver tissue producing cirrhosis.
Doctor :   It is usually transmitted through oral fecal route, sexual contact, blood or blood product transfusion and due to utilisation of unsterilised products in surgery.

Doctor :   As you are hep B positive and symptom free, there is no need to worry and can get vaccinated for Hepatitis complex which includes A, B , C, D and E.

Doctor :   It would be better to get regular investigations for Liver function tests, HBeAg and Hep B core antigen.
Doctor :   HBeAg is a marker to see the multiplication of the virus whether it is active or not.

Doctor :   Antibodies to HBe is also helpful to see the immunity of the body against the virus.
Doctor :   There are prophylactic medications for your child as he/she takes birth, Hep B vaccination along with antiviral injections are given.
Doctor :   Your need to maintain healthy life style like regular exercises and proper diet which would keep you fit and with good immunity.

Doctor :   In active infection the most common presentation would be jaundice along with abdominal pain and yellow discoloured urine.

User :   Because i have Gastric problem.
Doctor :   In chronic infection there is disturbed liver function with cirrhosis of liver in some people along with fluid in the stomach.
Doctor :   Gastric problem is not always related to liver conditions.
