User :   i have a very strange question, but when i was attempting to insert my hemorrhoid cream into my rectum, i felt a bulge about a 1/2 to a finger-lengths in - what could this be? i could just be paranoid. about 3 or 4 months ago i complained to my doctor about a strange feeling on my right side and he ordered an ultrasound and a bunch of blood tests (CBC, etc.) as well as urine test (checking kidneys)- all of which came back normal. i've noticed a change in stool size and consistency recently as well (although i have been someone of a heavy drinker but i have stopped drinking about 4 days ago). i am 22 years old and weigh about 190-195 lbs.
Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :   Dr xxxx here
Doctor :   Please give me a couple of minutes to read your post
Doctor :   What you have felt is a haemorrhoidal tag
User :   even if it was about a finger-lengths way up the rectum?
Doctor :   yes,
Doctor :   they could be up to 10 cm in length on max
User :   okay, i just assumed i had hemorrhoids because immediately close to the rim of my rectum there is something hanging, and my rectum is a bit swollen
User :   so is it possible to have both exterior and internal hemorrhoids?
Doctor :   yes,
User :   and just to clarify- the bulge wasn't necessarily small (not large either, but large enough for me to notice), but a hemorrhoid tag nonetheless?
Doctor :   it could be , they present as a raised lump in the inner wall of the rectum
User :   does blood need to be present for it to actually be a hemorrhoid? the last spot of blood i saw on a toilet paper was about a month ago
Doctor :   not always
Doctor :   only ruptured and fragile haemorrhoids do bleed
Doctor :   and if the stool is loos then the bleeding would be a far possibility
User :   yes, for a while now i've had very different consistencies in my bowel movements.. and sizes (although, again, i noticed that it was very mushy when i drank more- i stopped drinking about 4 days ago) and i sometimes feel like when i have a bowel movement it doesn't all go through- is this from hemorrhoids as well?
Doctor :   no,
User :   what do you reckon that could be from?
Doctor :   related to alcohol, and food habits
User :   would the extensive blood tests (and other tests that my doctor took) that were done a few months back have showed anything if there was anything wrong?
User :   out of curiosity
Doctor :   i am sorry , i could not comment on this as i do not know what tests you underwent exactly
User :   from the ones i remember, CBC, lipase, urine test, checked liver enzymes and others i do not remember, sorry
Doctor :   the liver enzymes do have a relation
Doctor :   yes, they would have brought out if it was serious
User :   alright, my huge fear is colon cancer (and any cancer at that) so i guess my paranoia stems from that
Doctor :   have you lost weight in recent days ?
User :   i don't believe so
Doctor :   have you lost your appetite ?
User :   not really, at points of the day i do get very hungry, but some days it varies.
Doctor :   loss of weight and appetite , will be the prime symptom in the cancer
Doctor :   so need not worry
User :   alright, thank you.
User :   but on something else - and i'm sorry to take up your time - i've noticed that my face has been red for about 5 days now. i drank pretty heavily last week (thus why i stopped drinking) and at one point my face was very dry (almost cracked-like around the eyes)- could this have been from dehydration or from something else?
Doctor :   yes, it could be due to dehydration
Doctor :   Is there anything i can help you with ?
User :   no, thank you very much!
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me , kindly provide your feedback
Doctor :   Bye for now
Doctor :   take care
