User :   For the past few months, I've noticed that after just one glass of wine, a few hours later, i get heart palpitations that last for a while. It doesn't feel irregular, just a constant thumping. I do notice that if I drink some water, it helps. Also, last night, I woke up with my heart beating hard twice, then a couple of seconds passed (almost felt like it stopped), then once again hard almost out of my chest. Also, sometimes if I'm laying on my left side, i feel like my heart flutters for a few seconds. I have had a complete cardiac work up a few months ago including echo, EKG, sonogram/ultrasound, 24-hour monitor, and stress test and all were normal, except for a finding of benign sinus tachycardia. I also have suffered from anxiety for years, so not sure if this is a factor. Should I worry that the doctor possibly missed something?
Doctor :   HiI am Dr
Doctor :   Plz wait I am reading
Doctor :   There is no need to worry at this time
Doctor :   You have pretty good work up
Doctor :   All it is negative
Doctor :   You can repea the 24 hours holter monotor
User :   would the finding of sinus tachycardia cause these symptoms?
Doctor :   But possibilities are sinus tachycardia
Doctor :   Yes it could cause palipations
Doctor :   Check your thryrod harmones
User :   I did have blood work a week ago and my thyroid and everything else was normal. Should I not drink wine or any alcohol at all or are these palpitations benign?
Doctor :   You can drink in moderate amounts
Doctor :   Wine one glass
User :   Could these palpitations lead to something else, like a heart attack or fainting?
Doctor :   yes \
Doctor :   palpitations
User :   so if I have one glass of wine and my heart starts to race, I should worry?
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   Alcohool increases the Atriall fibrillations
Doctor :   Actually it is one of the reason for Atrial Fibrillations
Doctor :   But u said it Sinus tachycardia
User :   I thought I had benign sinus tachycardia, benign meaning it's nothing to worry about right?
Doctor :   But still u ccan avoid and notice the symptoms
Doctor :   Benign means not associated with any major illness
Doctor :   like dehydration , heart attack. etc
User :   So when I have these episodes of palpitations, I shouldn't reall worry that I may have a heart attack
