Doctor:How are you?
User:I am not in India currently. A visible skin rash has appeared overnight in the chest area. I wanted to check if it is infectious and ask about preventive care before I can see a doctor here.
Doctor:Is there any associated itching?
Doctor:or fever?
User:There is no itching. The area is reddish with a few small bubbles. And it pains a bit.
User:No, I am not feeling feverish.
Doctor:It doesnt look like its infectious
Doctor:It could be an allergy or an insect bite
Doctor:In both cases, you need to take Tablet Cetrizine 10 once daily
Doctor:Also, apply calamine lotion on the area
Doctor:How old are you?
User:Okay. It pains if I touch or stretch the area.
Doctor:yes, it will hurt
User:I am 26.
Doctor:did you have any burning pain in the area before the rash appeared
User:It seemed to have developed overnight. I observed it yesterday morning and I did not feel any pain before that.
Doctor:It can be due to bed bugs or an allergy also
Doctor:Its difficult to tell without an exam
Doctor:I dont think its infectious
Doctor:and in all probability it will settle on its own
Doctor:Icing and calamine lotion on the affected area will help the most
User:That's good news. Thanks! :)
User:Is calamine a brand name or name of the drug? Is it available off the shelf in the pharmacy?
Doctor:It is available off the shelf
Doctor:Its a lotion and its the name of the drug
Doctor:Not the brand name
User:So it will be called by the same name even in France?
Doctor:Should be
Doctor:The name of the drug remains the same
User:For it to be an allergy, I did not eat anything out of the ordinary.
Doctor:It can be allergy to a soap or anything
Doctor:But since its painful
Doctor:its more likely that its an insect or bed bugs
User:Okay. Alright.
User:I will take cetrizine and apply calamine.
Doctor:Is there anything else I can help you with?
User:No, nothing else.
User:Thank you very much.
Doctor:thanks for consulting me
Doctor:Have a good day ahead
User:Have a good evening.
