User:Hi Dr.
User:I would like to have few clarifications about my hair fall problem
Doctor:Please explain your concern.
User:I'm 27 yrs female. I have moved from chennai to bangalore 4 months before.
User:after moving to bangalore my hairfall is increaded drastically
User:Initially i had drandruff problem a lot, then i started using nizrol shampoo which was prescribed by a physician long before .
User:no dandruff problem seems to be under control, but still i have hair fall problem
User:i would like you advice to reduce hair fall problem
Doctor:Can I know approximately how many hair strands do you loose in a day?
Doctor:Are you there?
User:it should be around 10-15 while one comb, i usually comb twice a day
User:whithout combing also if i just relax my hair again 10-15 will loose
Doctor:And may I know if your menstrual cycles are regular?
Doctor:Are you on any regular medications?
User:yea it is regular
User:no i'm not taking any medications
Doctor:Let me brief you.
Doctor:Hair just like any part of the body rejuvenates - old hair is lost and new ones grow.
Doctor:Scientifically if your hair fall is less than 100 strands of hair, then it is considered
Doctor:absolutely normal and we need to treat such hair loss.
Doctor:However there are few other factors which may have triggered the excessive hair fall after you shifted from your native.
Doctor:Those factors are primarily stress and reduced nutrition.
Doctor:Some studies done revealed that most young people who face hair issues are due to these 2 external factors.
Doctor:Apart from these genes, hormones, dandruff and others play a role.
Doctor:Now, based on your description it is possible that the stress of being in a new place and probably lack of proper diet
Doctor:may have triggered your hair fall.
Doctor:This in addition to the water/chemical changes may be causing it.
Doctor:Are you following?
User:yea , I'm listening
Doctor:So what I suggest is
Doctor:1. Try looking at your current diet and see if they contain good nutrients in it.
Doctor:A healthy diet needs to contain a balance of cereals, pulses, vegetables and fruits.
Doctor:In addition to other protein XXXXXXX food.
Doctor:Vegetables and fruits contain plenty of vitamins which are beneficia.
Doctor:2. Check if you are sleeping well. If your sleep is irregular and you have some sleeping issues, that needs to be rectified.
Doctor:3. Try destressing if you are stressed out. Yoga, physical exercise, mediation and music are the best choice of destression.
Doctor:these are the general measures,
Doctor:coming to specific measure
Doctor:4. You need to treat dandruff.
Doctor:Nizoral is good, but when used as instructed and when used frequently.
Doctor:It is recommended that the shampoo is rubbed on the scalp and not just hair alone.
Doctor:and twice or thrice a day is recommended if the problem is very severe
Doctor:if you are not happy with nizoral, you may try other shampoo like sebamed.
User:twice or thirce a week ?
Doctor:That would depend on the severity.
User:oh okies..
Doctor:You may try it 3 times a week, if it's fine with you.
Doctor:5. Use a broad spaced comb,
User:yea currently i'm using thrice a week and feel comfortable
Doctor:avoid using a hair dryer machine to dry your hair
Doctor:6. Oiling the hair is known to give beneficial results.
Doctor:Do oil your hair frequently.
Doctor:7. You can even try multivitamin supplements to give added nutritional boosting.
User:i'm using olive oil once a week and coconut oil eery aleternate day
Doctor:8. Lastly if all the measures fail, some medications like minoxidil may be tried under close monitoring by a doctor.
Doctor:It is available as solution for topical application.
Doctor:if there is a real need (if all the above measures have failed) then the solution can be tried.
User:okie Dr. I will follow all your advice in first place
User:before going for medication
Doctor:9. Hair transplant and hair weaving is the last option if all the options are not responsive.
Doctor:Hope you have followed?
Doctor:Do you have any other query?
User:yea yea I did.
Doctor:Do you have any doubts/queries?
User:No queries Dr.
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
User:Thanks a lot for giving me clarification and suggestion
