Hello Doctor Goodafternoon
I have a skin irritation/itching problem at my under arm
Ok
i have used Candid B, but seems not to be a permanent resolutin
I dont have any marks or anything else
i just have the sensation of itching
Candid B is a good treatment for fungal infection and yes, it doesn't prevent fungal infection.
when I scratch it, it will be of more rashes
Ok
May I know since when do you have this problem?
almost from last summer
Is it present throughout the year?
not continuously
May I know if there is any factor that aggravates the problem such as change in weather, change in your clothes, new deodorant / cosmetic, etc?
May I also know your age and gender?
im 30 m
I dont think any factor that it occurs
Ok
Have you seen a doctor?
but I notice when shave once in a while, when the hair regrows i feel the start of the irritation
Ok
Not seen any doctor
Ok
Do you sweat a lot?
no
Do you have history of diabetes, high blood pressure or thyroid problem?
nope
Ok
Let me brief you.
Itching occur due to infection/inflammation or allergies.
Since your history spans for more than a year, it would be difficult to predict what may be causing the itching.
But based on your history probably this may be related to irritation dermatitis.
ok
The treatment in such cases would be use of local skin soothening agents like caladryl with steroid.
Oral antihistamines if the problem is severe.
Avoid scratching and to
rule out other signs of infection.
Ruling out infection and other causes is important to complete the treatment and this can only be possible
by a direct skin examination when you have the symptoms.
Therefore I recommend you to consult a dermatologist when you feel the symptoms.
We can have a complete treatment once that is done.
Have you followed?
Hmm
To start with which one can I take?
I mean the suggested ointments
I would suggest caladryl solution during acute times of itching.
And a good moisturizer such as cetaphil moisturizer at other times.
In addition to consulting a dermatologist
Have you followed?
ok
Do you have any other query?
The Caladryl solution has any variants???
any brand
Caladryl is available at any chemist/pharmacist over the counter.
It contains various formula that soothen the skin and relieves itch.
It is not useful in infection though.
You will get this solution in the same name.
Have you followed?
ok
Do you have any other query?
Is that a ointment or just a solution
It is a semiviscous solution available in a bottle.
You can apply the same over the areas affected.
k
thks doctor
The aforementioned measure is only a temporary fix till you plan your visit to a dermatologist.
I hope you find the complete solution to your problem soon.
