Doctor :   Ok
User :   the swelling is worrying me..also onc can clearly see the swelling on the hand
User :   i am not able to make smooth movements
Doctor :   After going through the description provided by you, I feel there might be a hair line fracture or ligament injury.
User :   yes..u r right..what is ligament injury
User :   nd if its a hair line fracture - it shud have been visible on x ray
Doctor :   You can see an Orthopedician so that to rule out this kind of injuries but as an X ray is done.
Doctor :   Some time there are not visible.
Doctor :   An repeat X ray would help.
Doctor :   ligament is tissue connecting a muscle and the bone.
User :   actually when he pressed on the injury point, there was acute pain
Doctor :   so an tear would also create the same symptoms.
Doctor :   This is possible as the injury still requires time to heal.
User :   how do we know if its a hair line fracture or a ligament injury
User :   what are the remedies
Doctor :   Get a repeat X ray.
User :   will it help because one xray is already done -
Doctor :   depending if its not an hair line fracture then nothing requires and will heal.
User :   are u saying that if there is no hair line fracture than it would heal on its own - i mean what is the treatment during a ligament injury
Doctor :   Ligament and hair line injury requires plaster for one and half month.
User :   should i apply volini or moov
User :   plaster ? means crepe bandage plaster
Doctor :   as you are taking enzoflam which is a painkiller that would help and if you wish to then can apply volini or any other cream or spray.
Doctor :   No, its plaster of paris plaster.
User :   had it been a hair line fracture it would have been visible in xray
User :   will volini be harmful -
Doctor :   As I said you before that sometimes they are not visible so requires a repeat x ray.
User :   i am worried about the swelling and also its my right hand - i need to drive as well
Doctor :   no volini won't be harmful.
User :   will volini cure swelling
User :   do i get a repeat xray on a enlarged view - wud that help
Doctor :   No, swelling won't reduce with any medicines till the source is found.
Doctor :   if produced due to fracture would reduce only as the fracture heals.
Doctor :   no, need the same would help.
User :   so what should i do now - if repeat xray doesnt reveal hair line fracture then shud i consider its a ligament injury
Doctor :   Yes, thats a possiblilty. after repeat fracture see an orthopedician.
Doctor :   he would help you after seeing the x ray.
User :   i am somehow not convinced that its a fracture because am able to move my hand and even type and drive
User :   can u advise an orthopedician

Doctor :   Are there any more queries for me to help you with?
User :   i dont want to go for a plaster of peris - my concern is swelling - dont we have medicines available which can reduce swelling
Doctor :   As I explained you before that the swelling would reduce only after healing the source of injury.
Doctor :   so it will gradually reduce if it is due to fracture.
User :   ok, thanks...can i ask u one more query
User :   this is not related to hand injury
Doctor :   Yes, the swelling is due to the hand injury.
User :   no i mean i want to ask a different health related problem
Doctor :   Yes, please proceed.
User :   i drive a lot and have observed that a feel a pain on my left toe while running
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   is it the left great toe?
User :   when i press the toe a sligt pain is being felt- i was told by my friends that it happens due to excessive drving
User :   yes left one - u r right
Doctor :   Ok
User :   do u know abt this
Doctor :   is your foot wear comfortable or tight?
User :   footwear is comfortable
Doctor :   ok
User :   as per my size - its not tight
Doctor :   any injury in the recent past to the toe?
User :   no injuries ever on the toe
Doctor :   OK
Doctor :   Is there any discolouration of the skin over it?
User :   i have observed this in recent months - is it something to do with the driving as the left leg always
User :   no discoloration
Doctor :   then i feel that this pain could be due to the position of the leg during driving and you need to correct.
User :   i feel it when i run fast
User :   it is being felt on the left toe only - i hope its not smthing critical
Doctor :   After changing it observe for 15 days, if it doesnt reduce then you need to get a x ray to now whether it is a spur or not.
User :   what is a spur
Doctor :   spur is an extra growth of the bone which leads to pain on pressure.
User : is it treated
Doctor :   only pain killers would be helpful and avoidance of pressure over it.
Doctor :   if the situation gets unbearable then surgery can be opted.
User :   but painkillers are temporary and as such it doesnt pain all the time
Doctor :   yes, but that too would reduce the inflammation of the bone and also reducing the pressure over the toe would help.
User :   thanks so much for all the information you provided to me
Doctor :   Pleasure here.
Doctor :   Are there any more queries for me to help you with?
