User :   Hello, I'd like to talk about an HIV worry.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr
Doctor :   sure , please proceed with your query
User :   hi doctor. i apologise in advance for this, it will probably seem like a silly worry
Doctor :   no problem
User :   about a month ago i was fooling around with a girl i know to be quite promiscuous
User :   i nibbled and sucked her nipples for around a minute, and we kissed with tongues for maybe 20s
Doctor :   ok
User :   now, i have a sore throat and very slightly swollen glands
User :   additionally, the taste buds on the tip of my tongue seem to be red and swollen
Doctor :   ok
User :   i think the latter might be because of me sucking a little goatee patch i have
User :   i presume that might have irritated them
Doctor :   ok
User :   but because of the timing of this, i'm slightly freaking out, as silly as that may be
User :   could you shed some light on my risk here?
User :   i have no fever, no diarrhea
Doctor :   may i know your age ?
User :   22
Doctor :   have you been sexually active with more than one partners in the last 6 months ?
User :   i have had sex with one person, who was a girlfriend at the time of over a year
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   most of the symptoms you are having are very nonspecific
Doctor :   and are not diagnostic of HIV infection
Doctor :   also HIV is diagnosed based on the serological detection of antibodies to HIV in the blood samples.
Doctor :   the risk in your case is very less , as there was no exposure to blood or vaginal fluids
User :   i've been led to believe, by looking around, that it was zero risk. is that the case?
Doctor :   in addition, transmission via saliva (kissing) is minimal
Doctor :   the risk is minimal, yes
Doctor :   and you need not be worried about the risk of infection
User :   ok, thanks. what do you think of the swollen red taste buds?
User :   could it be the sucking on my goatee?
User :   (as strange as that sounds)
Doctor :   probably you might have inadvertantly bit yourself while kissing
Doctor :   yes , it could be too
Doctor :   and that will subside within a few days
User :   ok. and those aren't any symptom of hiv infection?
Doctor :   take advil for a few days and it will subside
User :   ok, thanks
Doctor :   yes, those are not symptoms of HIV
Doctor :   YOU ARE MOST welcome
User :   good bye :)
Doctor :   take care
Doctor :   have a good day
Doctor :   bye for now
