Doctor :   hi
User :   Hello Dr.
Doctor :   how can I help you?
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here
User :   I want to know my HIV risk
Doctor :   please proceed with your health query
User :   I involved in non-penetrative sex with a CSW
Doctor :   ok
User :   genital to genital rubbing with my underwear and Girl's panty on
User :   I felt some moisture
Doctor :   even with non penetrative sex, if there is exchange or contact with body fluids like saliva, semen, vaginal discharge, then risks are high that you will get infection
Doctor :   ok
User :   at no time my underwear came off
Doctor :   ok
User :   i never ejaculated
Doctor :   how many days/months back did this incident happen?
User :   11 weeks
User :   I got a Rapid test done at 10 weeks
Doctor :   ok
User :   which was negative
Doctor :   ok
User :   are rapid tests good and reliable?
Doctor :   there is no proven data of HIV transmission through clothes
Doctor :   getting a PCR DNA test done will help. If it comes back negative, then you will be sure that you do not have the infection
User :   i got it done at 52 days mark
User :   it says "NOT DETECTED"
Doctor :   meet your treating physician and ask for a prescription for this test
Doctor :   ok. if it said "NOT DETECTED" then it means that you do not have the infection
User :   how good are rapid tests at 10 week
Doctor :   why are you wooried about the rapid test? your PCR DNA test is come out negative, so there no need to worry about anything
Doctor :   *worried
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
User :   I read that PCR DNA is to be confirmed by ELISA at 13 weeks
Doctor :   if PCR DNA is positive, it should be confirmed again with ELISA, but it it is negative, then no further tests are required
User :   I got it done from SRL Religare lab
User :   I do not know which kit they use and if they check for all subtypes of virus
Doctor :   ok. Any standard lab will do it fine, so do not worry about your results
Doctor :   usually all the subtypes are covered in the test
Doctor :   in case of doubt contact religare and ask for details.
User :   they are not providing any deyails
User :   my 10 weeks rapid ELISA was also negative
Doctor :   usually all the subtypes are covered in the test done, so if it has come negative or as not detected, then it means that none of the subtypes are present in you.
Doctor :   IF PCR DNA is negative, ELISA will come back negative
Doctor :   as PCR DNA is more specific to the viral protien relication
Doctor :   if active infection was there it would have identified viral multiplication
User :   is 52 days enough for PCR DNA test
Doctor :   which it did not, so it came as not detected meaning to say that there is no active infection
Doctor :   PCR DNA test can be done anytime, and 52 days is a good enough time
Doctor :   to detect any infection
Doctor :   as by that time, the viral load would increased enough to be able to identify with test.
Doctor :   so do not worry about your HIV risk
Doctor :   your test has come back as not detected
Doctor :   which means you do not have the infection
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
User :   yes
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   so there is no need for further testing
Doctor :   no there is no need of further tests
User :   ok
User :   just want o know
User :   IS Rapid Elisa as good as traditional ELISA
Doctor :   why are you bothered about ELISA when your PCR test done is fine?
Doctor :   ELISA detects the presence of infection
Doctor :   PCR detects viral DNA which is more specific
Doctor :   traditional ELISA is always better, but sibce you have PCR test negative, you do not need to repeat ELISA
Doctor :   *since
User :   ok
Doctor :   is there anything else you would like to ask me?
User :   Is PCR DNA an approved test for HIV detection
Doctor :   yes it is an approved test and that is why it is done to confirm the HIV infection
Doctor :   and it is an approved test worlwide
User :   ok
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   no Dr. Thank you for your responses
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
