User :   Hi,I was pregnant with my second baby in June 2009. From this time I started getting a itching in the anal region. The itching has persisted till now. However, I have sought no medical attention for this till last week. The gynaec I went to said its a fungal infection and has prescribed canesten cream. I am not noticing a huge difference in the itching with the use of this cream. I have also occasionally seen red streaks in my stool but I cant say for sure whether its blood or any red food product. My bowel movements are not regular - sometimes constipated, sometimes normal, sometimes loose stools. I also experience symptoms of gas, bloating etc. Is it possible my itching is due to a fissure or could it be something more sinister?
Doctor :   hello
Doctor :   may i know your age please ?
User :   Hello Dr. To add to my symptoms above, I have also had a gall bladder removal in Nov 2010.

User :   normal diet...mostly home red meat
Doctor :   ok i will tell you based on your history that you have told me that what can be the possible conditions.. yes anal itching majority of the time is due to fungal infection. how many days have gone by since you started applying the cream ?
User :   today is day 7
Doctor :   also blood in stool even in small quantity and with a history of constipation and diarrhea can be due to irritable bowel syndrome
Doctor :   you do need further evaluation from a gastroentrologist
User :   could this be anything very very serious?
Doctor :   no its not something serious and its something that can be completely cured with medications alone
Doctor :   but i must tell you that you should seek medical help anytime you have any medical problem as soon as possible
Doctor :   but anyway right now
Doctor :   dont worry
Doctor :   you do need to see a specialist regarding this and a gastroentrologist is the right person
User :   is it common to have symptoms like mine after a gall bladder removal
