User :   hello doctor
User :   my wife is 6 month preganant
User :   she is feeling numbness in left hand and left leg, is there any problem?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   let me read your query
User :   k
Doctor :   May i know what was she doing when the symptoms began ?
Doctor :   and how long has she had the symptoms ?
User :   while sleeping it happens alot
User :   1 week
Doctor :   this is nothing to worry
Doctor :   OK
Doctor :   this is because she might have kept her arms below her body and ..
User :   earlier v also thought dis only
Doctor :   the pressure of the body on the arms , numbs the nerves and results in such symptoms
User :   but actually it hppnes while sitting also
Doctor :   maintaining proper posture and using soft pillows on either side of the body will help to solve this issue
User :   and when she sleeps right side than also she feels numbness in left side only
Doctor :   does she have any weakness , difficulty walking etc ?
Doctor :   And how long do the symptoms last, once they present ?
User :   within 5 minuts
User :   no she does not have any weakness
Doctor :   so they do go away in 5 minutes, is this right ?
User :   yes
User :   but it hppns many times in a day
Doctor :   then as i said, this is benign
Doctor :   and nothing to worry about
Doctor :   that is fine,
User :   k
Doctor :   as long as she does not have any weakness, or any issue with daily activities , that is completely fine
Doctor :   this is just numbing of nerves and is very common during pregnancy
User :   and her height is 5 feet and her weight is 64 kg as of now
User :   so how much idle weight she should gain more
User :   before pregnancy it was 58 kg
Doctor :   the weight is fine, as long as the ultrasound shows adequate amniotic fluid
User :   k
Doctor :   in about 3 more months , she will gain over 4-5 kilos
Doctor :   so she and the baby will be fine
User :   k
User :   thnk u so mch doctor
Doctor :   You are most welcome
User :   one more questin
Doctor :   Is there anything else i can help you with ?
Doctor :   sure
Doctor :   proceed
User :   is there any excercise which can help us to have normal pregnancy?
Doctor :   yes, kegel excercises and pelvic muscle relaxation exercises will help to have a normal vaginal delivery
Doctor :   but it will also depend on the inner bone structure as well
Doctor :   if the pelvis is adequate as detemined by the ultrasound, then there is no issues to have a normal delivery
User :   k
User :   and how many times ultrasound can b done during pregnancy?
Doctor :   any no of times, as needed , but usually doctors do it 3 times during a normal pregnancy
Doctor :   once at end of each trimester
Doctor :   ultrasound is very safe
Doctor :   and it does not affect the baby
User :   k because my doctor does it every month
Doctor :   that is fine, its not going to cause any issues
User :   k
Doctor :   minimum is 3 times
User :   k
Doctor :   if ur doctor feels that is needed, it can be done as needed
User :   and how many km she shud walk in a day?
Doctor :   there is no such need
Doctor :   she can do as far as she can manage, without hurting herself
Doctor :   and getting too tired
Doctor :   just a short walk of 1-2 kms would suffice
User :   k
User :   thnk u doctor..
Doctor :   you are most welcome
Doctor :   have a good evening
