Doctor :   you mean asbestos ?
User :   as the house we are doin up was bulit in 1980 and its 31 years old
User :   yes
Doctor :   can you explain your symptoms ?
Doctor :   exposure to asbestos, does not cause symptoms acutely
User :   i have this pain that mild at the moment on the left side in the rib area and breathless and feel i will stop breathing
User :   when did they stop useing abestso when buliding houses
User :   and got hot flashes
Doctor :   it takes at least 20-30 yrs of exposure, to bring on the symptoms , like progressive breathlessness, cough etc
Doctor :   it does not present with chest pain
User :   why am i feeling very breatless then
Doctor :   may i know ur age ?
Doctor :   and how long have u had your symptoms ?
User :   and there was a guy i knew did his house up and he died from abestso after 1 month
User :   4 to 5 days
User :   i am 33
Doctor :   what was the age of the guy who died ?
User :   he was 37
Doctor :   what was his occupation ?
Doctor :   may i know ur occupation ? as well
User :   he wasnt a builder or nothing he just pulled down walls in the bedroom and somewhere else
Doctor :   Have u been doing similar jobs ?
User :   i am only helping my dad fix the house up to the way we want it and i dont work.
User :   sanding and ripping down walls yes
Doctor :   in that case, it is highly unlikely that your symptoms , could be related to asbestosis,
User :   why is that
Doctor :   as, i mentioned before, it does not present with chest pain,
Doctor :   and does not present acutely
User :   what about very bad breathlessness
User :   when did they stop using abestso
Doctor :   to know what exactly is causing your symptoms, you need to get an X ray of your chest , as well as a lung function test
Doctor :   asbestos, is still being used as a heat insulator , but in a different and less lethal fashion
User :   when was abestso not used in the walls of houss
Doctor :   the Xray will show specks of calcifications and the lung function will show a restrictive pattern of breathing
User :   even if it is early days
Doctor :   yes
User :   why am i so breatless
Doctor :   as i mentioned before, your symptoms of chest pain and breathlessness, could be due to musculoskeletal spasm, or asthma, or panic attacks
Doctor :   the exact cause, to be known needs a physical examination
Doctor :   Are u there ?
User :   yes
User :   getting a very dry mouth at the back of my mouth
User :   at the back of my tounge

Doctor :   does ur chest hurt when pressed ?
User :   no why
User :   runny nose when it is very cold but that is it
Doctor :   coz, presence of such symptoms indicate infection, eg pnemonia
Doctor :   in the lack of such symptoms, you might just be having musculoskeltal pain or anxiety
User :   i only ave runny nose when it is cold so could i have pnemonia
Doctor :   you might benefit by taking some ibuprofen and taking some miuch needed rest
Doctor :   no,
Doctor :   fever, chest pain, purulent expectoration -= pneumonia
Doctor :   Are u there ?
Doctor :   It seems that you might have moved out of the page
Doctor :   please log in again if u have any additional query
