User :   Thank you for your time!
I am a 28 year old male who sustained a severe crush injury a few years ago (An eight ton tractor crushed my pelvis, sacrum, and back.). About an hour ago, bulging veins were felt, with soreness, on the left side of my left chest/shoulder area for a short period of time. While sleeping on my left shoulder, my heart hurts (stabbing needles). (Note: Both souls of my feet turn purple within 10 minutes of sitting; however, a work. comp.
User :   Hi!
User :   Thank you for your time.
Doctor :   Let me read your query for few minutes to be able to have a good discussion here.
Doctor :   yes, the symptom you had is due to compromise i blood supply to the limbs presenting bluish
Doctor :   and that happens when there is blocked of blood circulation which could be due to moderate pressure over the blood vessels or even a blockade inside the vessel by a clot / emboli
Doctor :   an emboli is very common in cases of accident specially bone fractures where fat fro the marrow becomes an emboli
Doctor :   hence the problem you had should be monitored wel
Doctor :   if the same thing ( blocked ) happens in the vessels supplying the brain or heart its life threatening
User :   Okay, thank you! Is it normal to come and go?
User :   As it did?- just for a short period of time?
Doctor :   no , its rare but should be watching for
Doctor :   since you have got once you may have to get yourself examined by a vascular surgeon
Doctor :   and may be a DOPPLER study be required
User :   Okay. Are there any medications that could aid in the blood flow? Or surgery? I suppose it may depend, huh? A DOPPLER, perhaps. Okay.
Doctor :   yes, but there are medications too , as the episode ended there are good chances without surgery
User :   I was examined by a vascular surgeon; but, he said that there was nothing to worry about: he did not order any test.
Doctor :   but now after this episode of the vascular compromise , he will surely actively intervene
User :   Could the bluish discoloration in my feet, which occurs within 10 minutes of sitting, cause a blood clot?
Doctor :   no, it may be due to blood clot or a fat drop ( both acting here as emboli )
Doctor :   and the effect of vascular insufficiency now may not get complicated but if it was for long term a gangrene can set in
User :   You believe he would- Okay, thanks for your inpute on that.
Doctor :   You are welcome
User :   Thank you so much for your time.
