User :   I have a brain related question. I'm using a vacuum helmet to increase bloodflow to the scalp and promote hair regrowth. Could it cause brain damage due to high intra cranial pressures?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr.XXXX
User :   Are you able to answer brain related?
Doctor :   Yes
User :   Then please ansewr my question above
Doctor :   The vaccum helmets which are designed to increase the blood flow to the scalp are safe
Doctor :   and do not cause an increased cranial pressure
User :   Do you have any experience using these helmet?
User :   or known any patient who did?
Doctor :   I have no experience for myself but I know the mechanism how it works
User :   intersting.
User :   these helmets are not commercially availabnle, I designed on myself..
Doctor :   The scalp has five layers
Doctor :   out of which the third and fourth layer has the blood vessels
User :   third and fourth from outside or from inside?
Doctor :   and the helmet has its effect only on the
Doctor :   these
Doctor :   Outside
Doctor :   The bone (skull ) is underneath this vascular or blood layer
Doctor :   So the effect of helmet does not pass on till the bone
Doctor :   so you have a harder protection below the scalp in the form of bone
User :   but if the negative pressure is very high?
User :   can it penetrate deeper?
Doctor :   No
Doctor :   Who has prescribed you this mode of treatment?
User :   I just read it on a patent that describes it
User :   for treating baldness
User :   But i read that high blood flow to the head can cause high Intra cranial pressure
User :   that's why I 'm afraid
User :   don't you think so?
Doctor :   The helmets will not cause such problems
User :   Not directly from the suction on the head, but from the increased blood flow
Doctor :   Actually I wanted to know if a doctor has advised you to use the helmet
User :   No, firstly these helmets are non existant commercially
Doctor :   because it is not clincally proven or no evidence
Doctor :   that these contribute to hair growth
User :   Whether it works or not , I will find out experimentally
User :   my concern is about posible dangers such as brain damage
User :   you haven't answered my question - NOt directly from the suction on the head but from the increased blood flow
User :   can it cause high ICP?
Doctor :   This device causes increased blood flow only to the scalp but not to the brain
User :   that's very encouraging.. So the blood flow paths to the brain and scalp are different?
Doctor :   Yes
User :   That makes me happy. YOu are sure, right?
Doctor :   yes
User :   Ok, thanks a lot then
Doctor :   Pleasure here too
Doctor :   Bye for now
User :   bye
