User :   so it'll automatically go away?
Doctor :   look at ur sugar level
Doctor :   Kidney function test
User :   cant sugar level be identified through urine test?
Doctor :   nope
Doctor :   blood sugar level
User :   so u suggest that i get that?
Doctor :   yes if ketones bodies are there the doctor should have suggested this
User :   is ketones dangerous in body?
Doctor :   Chemicals that the body makes when there is not enough insulin in the blood and it must break down fat instead of the sugar glucose for energy.
Doctor :   he ketone bodies -- acetone, acetoacetate, and beta-hydroxybutyrate -- are toxic acidic chemicals. They build up in the blood and then spill over into the urine. The body can also rid itself of acetone through the lungs. This gives the breath a fruity odor.
The presence of ketone bodies in the blood is termed ketosis and the presence of ketone bodies in the urine is called ketonuria.
User :   but is it of a high risk?
Doctor :   high in fats and low in protein and carbohydrates, mimics starvation and raises the level of ketone bodies in the blood.
Doctor :   this is will cause ketone bodies to appear in urine as well
Doctor :   get a repeat urine test done after 3 days
User :   oh k
Doctor :   it can be due to fasting as well
User :   well i fasted 1 full day
User :   for 24 hours, not eating drinking
Doctor :   then that is the reason
Doctor :   nothing to be worried about then
Doctor :   High protein or low carbohydrate diets
User :   and that was last saturday
Doctor :   Starvation
User :   but y the effect so late
Doctor :   Acute or severe illness like fever will ketones bodies
User :   if i starved on last saturday
Doctor :   yes it could be the cause in normal person
User :   hmm
Doctor :   like in ur case
User :   ill start eating regurarly
Doctor :   dont be worried now
Doctor :   yes
User :   thanks....
Doctor :   ur welcome
User :   u think
User :   1 of the reason he wudnt hve asked for blood test could be coz of low level of ketones in urine
User :   instead of high levels?
Doctor :   no
Doctor :   there will be no ketones usually
User :   ohhh
Doctor :   it can be seen in this conditions i mentioned as above
User :   ok then nothin 2 worry
User :   but u stil think that i should get 1 more urine test in 3 days rite
Doctor :   not needed
Doctor :   u need to worry
Doctor :   if starvation was the reason
User :   oh k
User :   thanks
User :   take care and have a nice day
Doctor :   ur welcome
Doctor :   good nite
