Doctor :   How about your husband's age ?
User :   30
Doctor :   May i know if you had sexual intercourse with your husband prior to 25th/26th of this month , between last menstrual cycle and this, for eg. on Jan. 14th,15th,16th,etc.
User :   25 th
User :   no not prior to this
Doctor :   When did you have your previous intercourse with your husband prior to 25th Jan.
Doctor :   If at all you remember ?
User :   23 but it was protected
Doctor :   Previous to that ?
Doctor :   As Let me explain you the physiology of Pregnancy and fertilisation.
User :   my husband was on a business trip for 1 month prior to this
Doctor :   Ok.
User :   he returned on 23rd
Doctor :   1. The egg from the Ovary is released somewhere between 11th day and 19th day after the last menstrual cycle.
User :   hello
User :   yes plz.. go ahead
Doctor :   2. So according to that it would be 12/13th Jan to 20th Jan.
User :   ok
Doctor :   3. And hence if you had an intercourse on 23rd Jan, I would say that you have a very low chance of being pregnant in the first case.
Doctor :   A very low chance, though we cannot rule out.
User :   hmmm..ok
Doctor :   Hope I have made this physiology clear.
User :   yes doctor
Doctor :   4. Sometimes the egg if released late can stay active in the fallopian tubes for 24 hrs.
User :   ok
Doctor :   5. So lets no take a chance, And if you do not get a period for next 3 days Please test with a Urine pregnancy Strip test.
User :   we have already tested twice today as well as yesterday...but it came negetive both the times
Doctor :   6. The Urine Strip test needs to be tested at least after 12 days from your usual last day of missed period.
User :   ok... shall we go for blood test for the detection of the same
Doctor :   7. That would be 10/11th Feb.
Doctor :   8. Please wait as there is no need to panic and can be easily aborted by just a tablet under the guidance of a gynecologist after 10/11th feb.
Doctor :   Two consecutive urine tests , if negative can be safely relied upon.
User :   just for our knowledge.. what could be the possible repurcussions of aborting the pregnancy..
Doctor :   Sometimes the Periods can be delayed by 2/3 days and should not be a cause of worry.
Doctor :   Usually if done once/twice or thrice medically , I mean by tablets is fine.
Doctor :   But if done more often can lead to hormonal problems and can cause long term delays in pregnancies if repeated.
User :   ok.. is there any risk of not beable to concieve again in future.. any...
Doctor :   I don't think , using a medical / pill for abortion once would cause any risk of not conceiving again.
Doctor :   Medical research doesnt say that if used once or twice can cause conceiving problems.
Doctor :   But we have seen cases where if used more times can surely cause problems in conceiving.
Doctor :   But not an issue for you if you are using for first or second time ?
User :   this is the first time we are concieving and thinking for an abortion..
Doctor :   You are at no further risk, I feel you can go ahead.
Doctor :   * But please take a Gynec opinion as it is important to see if the abortion has been complete or not .
Doctor :   An Ultrasound is done after the pill to see that.
Doctor :   Hope I have answered your query ?
User :   ok.. what are the after affects for that pill Doctor...?
Doctor :   Is there anything else you want me to let you know ?
Doctor :   1. Nausea
Doctor :   2. Vomiting
Doctor :   3. Stomach ache or lower abdomen pain
Doctor :   4. Excessive bleeding.
Doctor :   But these are not seen in all the people who use the pill.
User :   for how long will that continue...?
Doctor :   Usually not more than a week.
User :   ok.. last question.. what are the chances of failiure..
User :   for the pills...
Doctor :   Even though it is available freely, it should be taken with prior consent of your doctor. The doctor is the best to decide whether you are fit to take the pill or not.
User :   and when can we expect the normal manstruation cycle angain after abortion...
Doctor :   If taken under the guidance of the Gynecologist it is 100% as it can be seen under the scan , reassessed and can be given again or dosage can be readjusted.
Doctor :   As the pill is a combination of two/three hormones , chances of abortion are more than failure.
Doctor :   Hope you have followed ?
User :   yes Doctor... thanks a lot..
Doctor :   Normal cycles can be established in one month in 50% of patients.
User :   ok
Doctor :   In two months they are established in 35% cases.
Doctor :   Hope I have answered your queries.
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting me.
Doctor :   Please let me know if i can help oyu out.
User :   yes doctor... tahnsk a lot for ur valuable time
Doctor :   Take care, Bye for now
