User :   I have a few questions related to my skin

User :   My skin in general is very dry....lately I ha ve discovered that a white patch has been generated on my left bicep.
User :   The sensation at the spot is less than other places.
Doctor :   May I know your age?
User :   it is 27
Doctor :   Since when have you noticing this spot?
User :   3 months
Doctor :   Do you feel the spot is increasing in size?
Doctor :   Do you find you are losing hair in that particular spot?
User :   No but I see other spot getting in shape on other places
User :   I lost hair a bit
User :   I consulted skin specialist, they recommended me to get AFB smear Lepra Bacilli test. The report didn't find the Lepra Bacilli.

Doctor :   Do you have any other medical illness such as diabetes/thyroid dysfunctions?
User :   No.
User :   I smoke a lot
Doctor :   Do you have similar lesions anywhere else in your body?
User :   No
User :   Doctor recommended me Vitamin B6 tablets, not to take any preserved items, no non-veg and avoid Vitamin C even not to use soap which has lemon.

Doctor :   Let me explain to you.
Doctor :   Based on your symptoms,
Doctor :   you seem to have a local skin condition
Doctor :   probably an infective condition - pityriasis
User :   Is this serious?
Doctor :   or a simple demelaninising condition called as vitiligo
Doctor :   Both of these conditions are not serious.
Doctor :   However since leprosy is one condition that can mimick the same
Doctor :   it is necessary that you rule it out completely.
Doctor :   AFB smear rules out leprosy.
User :   Yes
Doctor :   So you can get a repeat AFB smear test
Doctor :   if they are negative
Doctor :   you just need to watch over the spot
Doctor :   watch for increase in size of the spot
Doctor :   or similar spots appearing.
Doctor :   If you notice such changes, then you may need a course of anti leprosy medication.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   Before the patch generated it is like dandruff kind very dry.
User :   Yes, I have followed and will be getting it tested repeatedly
