User :   I have been lightheaded off and on for about 4 days now. It began quite suddenly. I'm usually in motion when I feel it (walking around the house or to and from the car) and it passes when I sit or lie down. I feel as though I might faint or fall forward. I also have some tingling across the bridge and along the side of my nose. I've had a head CT that was clear and bloodwork, but the dizziness remains.
Historical info: I've been nursing a pinched nerve for a couple of months that impacts my neck and shoulders. I've also had considerable dental work done over the last 60 days. I'm noticing some tremors in my upper back when I wake up in the morning, and my legs feel a bit like their floating sometimes when I'm lying down. No shortness of breath or chest pain.I'm 41 and female. I've been referred to a neurologist and that appt is in March. Is there anything I can do until then? I was given a script for Vertigo, although the doctor and I agree it is not vertigo but lightheadedness. Dramamine? Could the pinched nerve be causing this or the root canal?
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   Hi
User :   Hello
Doctor :   Let me read your query for few minutes to be able to have a good discussion here.
User :   ok
Doctor :   How did the doctor rule out vertigo ?
User :   Because I feel like the floor is rising up to meet me as opposed to a spinning sensatino
User :   sensation
Doctor :   Yes, it can happen in vertigo ?when the vertical semicircular canals of the vestibular apparatus are involved
User :   I see. My husband is getting the script filled now but I don't have the name handy.
User :   She was so sure it wasn't vertigo. I told her that the floor almost feels like it's bouncing or I'm bouncing on it
Doctor :   The either of the cause you doubting , pinch of the nerve and the root canal treatment complication cannot nerve produce such an symptom
User :   Good to know.
User :   I will try the prescription.
User :   The nose sensation - any thoughts on that?
Doctor :   Fine
Doctor :   can you explain the sensation in the nose little bit more ?
User :   Radiating or vibrating across the bridge and/or down the side
User :   Could that be pinched nerve related?
Doctor :   yes, here the pinched nerve can be a chance
User :   ok
Doctor :   but before establishing it as a cause i would ask you to completely rule out vertigo
User :   Outside of taking the meds, is there anything else I should do to rule out vertigo?
Doctor :   yes, there is a test called Dix Hallpike test
Doctor :   which is very informative
User :   I will look into it. Thank you.
Doctor :   You are welcome
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
User :   Take care
Doctor :   Kindly provide your feedback
Doctor :   Bye for now
User :   will do. bye
