User :   Hi, I'm an 18 year old male. I've been bleeding from my navel for about a week and a half. There is no pain. There is blood and pus coming out with very bad odor. I've been using poly bacitracin for about three days but I cannot tell if it has had an effect. I don't seem to feel any bulges so I do not think it is a hernia. Also, when I touch the bottom of it, on the inside, I feel slight irritation.
Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :   Dr XXX here
User :   Hello
Doctor :   please give me some time to read your post
Doctor :   Did you had such problems in past ?
User :   No sir
Doctor :   Ok , i would suggest you to get examined physically by a general surgeon for the same
Doctor :   and you may also require to get a culture sensitivity test of the discharged pus
Doctor :   so that specific antibiotic which kills the infection can be determined and put on
User :   ok thank you
Doctor :   Do not keep the area wet
Doctor :   or do not pour water on it as it could worsen the problem
User :   Oh wow, I've been using water to clean it though
User :   Should I stop applying the poly bacitracin?
Doctor :   Using clean sterile water would be good than ordinary tap water
Doctor :   Use saline available in medical shops
Doctor :   continue to apply poly Bacitracin
User :   ok thank you for your help sir
Doctor :   til you get the culture senstivity test
User :   I will have it physically examined tomorrow by my physician
Doctor :   Is there anything i can help you with ?
User :   If i do not feel pain or have any other symptoms, how likely can it be that a hernia exists?
Doctor :   Hernia will more often be associated with swelling
User :   Oh ok.
User :   Thank you for your help Dr
Doctor :   If its discharging pus the possibilities of hernia would be considered least
